All sorts of things and weather
Must be taken in together,
To make up a year
And a sphere

FNO is still going strong in Jamaica tonight, Saturday September 11 2010, if the media reports are to be believed. Meanwhile, the seriousness of both Jamaican and American Politics has my mind in a tizzy.
So again I retreat into the creature comfort of the battle among the Silicon Valley Tech Heavyweights and their errant pursuit of the elusive White Unicorn, that being of course the device that carved out a whole section of the Computer Industry for itself: The Apple iPad.
This despite not having any game as stated in the article “No iPad Killer Coming Until 2012, Says iSuppli”, published Thursday August 26, 1:59 pm ET, Barbara E. Hernandez , Yahoo! News.
White Rich People in Silicon Valley , do you not feel bad that you are being beaten by CEO Steve Jobs, and worse, using a suggestion that I, John Public had made, both now morphed into the form of the Apple iPad and the Apple iPhone and its spanking new External Loop Antenna.
An antenna design which by the way, actually reduced BER (Bit Error Rates) in 3G Data transmissions due to its omni-directional properties as stated in the article as stated in the article “iPhone 4's Antenna Boosts Voice and Data Rates, With One Big Flaw”, published Friday, June 25, 2010 05:38 AM PDT by Mark Sullivan, PC World.
Also as CNET News video CNET TV - Fastest Network NYC aired Monday 12th July 2010 by Bonnie Cha, Senior Editor and Jeff Bakalar, Associate Editor, CNET News, New York City , have shown?
“Antennagate” issues were easily resolved using a bumper, which any purchaser of a smart phone SHOULD purchase to protect their expensive gadget? Worse, I am not even a genius, muchless wielding a PhD, just merely a technician with a knack for experimentation?
Media please print this, as John Public suspects that the Antenna issue is more of a witch-hunt as opposed to serious journalism, as we Jamaicans purchase protective cases for our JA$50000 smart phones, a bit too much money to get wet or damaged as far as we Jamaicans are concerned.
I feel inclined to fire my cannon, though, as Samsung has decided to shoot themselves in the foot, despite an otherwise excellent product as stated in the article “Samsung Galaxy Tab: An android, contender”, published September 3, 2010 10:32 AM PDT by Stephen Shankland, CNET News - Deep Tech.
Samsung, possibly superstitious, decided to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tablet using the same two (2) year contract plan as the Samsung Galaxy S smart phones and its highly acclaimed Samsung Epic 4G smart phones, a galaxy of devices having sold nearly a million (1,000,000) units as stated in the article “Samsung Ships 1 Million Galaxy S smart phones in the U.S.”, published Monday August 30, 2:32 am ET, by Stan Schroeder, Yahoo! News.
This will largely backfire as opined in the article “Success of Samsung Galaxy Tab Doomed by Carrier Contracts”, published by Monday September 6, 9:16 am ET by Tony Bradley, Yahoo! News and the video “CNET Buzz Report”, aired Friday September 10 2010 by Molly Wood, Executive Editor, CNET News.
There is a flood, an avalanche if you will, of tablets that are coming in the Fall of 2010 as stated in the article “iPad competitors lining up”, published September 7, 2010 4:00 AM PDT by Erica Ogg,CNET News - Circuit Breaker and as stated in the video “CNET Loaded”, aired Tuesday August 7th 2010 by Mark Licea, Senior Executive Editor, CNET News to whet the appetite of the Christmas crowd on Black Friday after having been stuffed with Thanksgiving Dinner.
For the record, John Public does not eat Turkey, or any American food for that matter, as I am allergic to anything that is processed i.e. I have allergies, like a good little geek, to anything unnatural, peanut butter included , as my ears are stopped up after having eaten some peanut butter, despite knowing this.
Thus I go only for what is natural, both in terms of what I eat and what I like in terms of electronics gadgets and using my imagination to design my ideas is as natural as I can get. Hence the successful Apple iPad, the Motorola Droid and a slew of other ideas for devices yet to be released that I have written up.
Welcome to my Chocolate Coated Candy Shop of Ideas!
So Tech Industry folks, I am now a bit bored with all of these tablet wanna-bees that make their announcements but have nothing to show for it as stated in the article “iPad competitors lining up”, published September 7, 2010 4:00 AM PDT by Erica Ogg, CNET News - Circuit Breaker.
Meanwhile, Apple Engineers may have plans for integrating solar power as stated in the article “Apple eyes gadgets with built in Solar panels”, published January 22, 2010 7:46 AM PST by Martin LaMonica, CNET News - Green Tech and as further asserted in the article “Apple patent bid combines solar with touch screen”, published June 7, 2010 6:31 AM PDT by Martin LaMonica, CNET News - Green Tech into the Apple iPad.
FaceTime Video Calling feature as stated in the article “Report: Next iPad likely to include camera”, published August 3, 2010 10:47 AM PDT by Lance Whitney, CNET News - Apple, which along with All-Electric Vehicles, will be heavily trending in the Summer of 2011.
Apple already offers video streaming from the Verizon FIOS Platform as stated in the article “Verizon Wants to stream FIOS to iPad, other Tablets”, published Wednesday August 18, 5:14 pm ET, by Adam Dickter, newsfactor.com, Yahoo! News
Also via Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) from its latest hobby horse, the Apple iTV as stated in the article “For 99 cents, Amazon sells shows, Apple rents them”, published September 1, 2010 2:31 PM PDT by Ina Fried, CNET News - Beyond Binary.
The Next refresh cannot be too far away, as already D-Day on Wednesday September 1st 2010 AD that brought us the refreshed Apple iPod Touch, Apple iPod Nanos and Apple iPod Shuffle is now an old newspaper tumbling down the street in the wind.
The recent development of the Apple iPad is now seen as a game changer and predicted to kill of the netbooks as stated in the article “ iPad, tablets expected to dampen Netbook sales”, published April 6, 2010 8:17 AM PDT by Lance Whitney CNET News – Crave and “Netbook Sales Sag as the iPad Arrives” published April 7, 2010, 12:27AM EST By Cliff Edwards, CNET News – COMPUTERS,
An event which is now coming to fruition stated in the article “Apple ponders iPad cannibalization of PC's”, published July 20, 2010 8:43 PM PDT, by Brooke Crothers, CNET News Nanotech - The Circuits Blog. The secret to making a successful table is so blessedly simple: take one of their popular smart phone and make it bigger and the software more responsive or “zippy” as the Americans call it and have an Apps Store baked in that has apps optimized to use up the larger screen real estate and sell it for one low flat price.
Preferably below US$699; it should have a Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) only version and a Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) + 4G (LTE and WiMax preferably), no contracts and a thirty (30) day subscription for the Data plan and most importantly, be on Telecom Provider Verizon Data Network.
Motorola would definitely want some of that action, especially as they seem tapped to be able to do this with their popular Star Wars inspired Motorola Droid line of Google Android powered smart phones as stated in the article “Motorola most likely iPad rival”, published August 22, 2010 11:00 AM PDT by Brooke Crothers, CNET News - Nanotech The Circuits Blog.
To wit, Motorola only needs to make the Motorola Droid bigger, minus the retractable QWERTY keyboard and they would have a bona fide Apple iPad killer on their hands. Call it the Motorola LightSaber and make it have the same sound when it boots up and throw in solar power so as to avoid having to plug in to recharge, and Motorola would, I am wiling to wager, capture the White Unicorn that I have set loose upon the Americans.
It would be good for Motorola to step up to the plate before Black Friday, however, as defiantly they do not want to miss out on the day when tablets are predicted to trounce the Laptop in 2012 and make them into museum pieces as stated in the article “Tablets Threaten to Make Netbooks Obsolete”, published Wednesday September 8, 2:20 pm ET by Tony Bradley, Yahoo! News.
All this to happen before the end of the year 2010 AD.
