Google +1 and their Social Networks Machinations - If Tomorrow Comes

But when to mischief mortals bend their will,
How soon they find fit instruments of ill!

Pope, The Rape of the Lock, III

I seems to be the case in the Social Networking sphere, now boiling hot with the announcement of two (2) suckling pigs in the overcrowded pen. In one corner, we have the Silicon Valley Tech giant namely Mountain View, California based Google coming out with their +1 button as stated in the article “Google's '+1' experiment looks Delicious”, published March 30, 2011 1:02 PM PDT by Caroline McCarthy, CNET News - The Social.

That’s it, compadres!

A “like” button for search results.

A bit odd, I must say, as realistically, it needs to be a bit more intuitive, as it seems strange that would go through the effort of “liking” a link (?) of a web page I am yet to even peruse. Plus, Google Instant and its AI (Artificial Intelligent) guessing algorithm makes search easier as stated in my blog article entitled “Google and AI - I Robot”.

Search is just not “sexy” enough to make into a Social Network, as it is a utilitarian service driven by advertising. Google is not a website watering hole for online prattle and gossip and females to soak up the adoration of male admirers, a description more befitting FaceBook.

This is the opinion more or less expressed by opinion dryly expressed and cheekily titled by Mathew Ingram of GigaOM article entitled “Sure, I could join a Google-based Social Network - but why?”, published March 30, 2011, 4:02pm PT by Mathew Ingram, GigaOM.

Yes Google. Why?

Then again, the active words “experiment” should give you a clue; they are building up to a Social Network Rival to Google. This despite previous a denial by Google’s Head of Mobile Product Development, Hugo Barra, during a Q&A session at the Monaco Media Forum as stated in the article “Google denies building Facebook 'rival'”, published November 11, 2010 by Jeffrey Van Camp, Home Computing, DigitalTrends.

Two (2) months prior, then Google CEO Eric Schmidt, had said that their recent launches of Google Instant and Google Voice Integration into Gmail was a buildup to a Social Network as stated in the article “Google's Schmidt taking small steps into social”, published September 15, 2010 9:47 AM PDT by Tom Krazit, CNET News - Relevant Results.

Google thus appears to very disorganized, as they has already launched Google Wave followed by Google Buzz on their very popular Gmail Platform in 2010. All spectacular flops as stated in my blog article entitled “Google vs Facebook - Age of Empire and TRON Legacy”. Its reception by their users was lukewarm.

So again, in light of this recent announcement, my suggestion of a Social Network that pays you money for clicking on advertising as described in my blog article, which is rather long winded, entitled “Google and Google Me - How the West Was Won”, would be just the right fit.

This as nothing attracts people to a Social Network than allowing people to make revenue while having to spend money on playing games.

Games are a definite source of Revenue, which Facebook is apparently cashing in on as stated in my blog article entitled “Facebook Credits and Online Gaming - The Pied Piper's Revenge in the Age of Empire”.

But Facebook is yet to allow ordinary users to make money from Facebook. Google Me could make this possible via my proposal in my blog article entitled “Google and Google Me - How the West Was Won”, which would enable users to make revenue from persons clicking on ads that they sponsor on their page.

Possibly this +1 Button is a precursor to a Google Me Social Network as stated by Eric Schmidt? Possibly slated to debut this Summer of 2011, SidneyIf Tomorrow Comes (TV Mini Series 1986)” style.

Stay Tuned!
