360 MW LNG Power Plant and 115 MW Renewable Energy Project Bidders have submitted Bids - Congratulations to the Energy Bidders as Liberated Energy Sector is Power to the People

More positive news in the Energy Sector, both Renewable and Fossil Fuel based! This as all the selected Bidders has now coughed up their respective Bid Bonds!

In the 360 MW LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) Power Plant Project, EWI (Energy World International) has submitted their Bid Bond of US$7.37-million Bond, which represents 1% of their US$737 million project on Friday October 18th 2013 as stated in the article “EWI Delivers - Energy Minister Welcomes Bid Bond”, Published Saturday October 19, 2013, The Jamaica Gleaner and “EWI posts Bid”, published Saturday, October 19, 2013 BY BALFORD HENRY Senior staff reporter, The Jamaica Observer!

In the 115 MW Renewable Energy Project, the three (3) initial Bidders also procured their respective Bid Bonds as well on Tuesday October 15th 2013 as stated in the article “Renewable Energy Bidders Make Security Bond Deposits”, Published Saturday October 19, 2013, The Jamaica Gleaner.

This is exactly fifteen (15) days after EWI was made the preferred Bidder and were told to procure the Bid Bond on Friday October 4th 2013 as stated in my blog article entitled “Azurest Cambridge Power failed to provide the Bid Bond and Energy World International sent in to bat for 360MW LNG Power Plant - Energize Jamaica Should be the Rightful No. 2 Bidder”.

If you’ve been following my blog, you’d have realized that WWFL (Wigton Wind Farms Limited) has already procured their Bid Bond as of Tuesday October 8th 2013 as stated in my blog article entitledWigton Wind Farms Limited submits Bid Bond for 24MW Wind Farm - 78MW Total from WWFL, BMR and WRB Enterprises Inc means were 37MW short on Renewable Energy”.

115 MW of Renewable Energy vs 360 MW of LNG Power – Power to the People

So in reality, it’s the other two (2) Bidders, Solar Power Company WRB Enterprises Inc and Wind Energy Company BMR (Blue Mountain Renewables) that have paid up their Bid Bond. This brings the total Renewable Energy from Successful Bids to 78 MW, with a remaining 37 MW of capacity that needs to be filled by an additional qualified Bidder.

This development is BOTH the 360 MW LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) Power Plant Project and the 115 MW Renewable Energy Project comes as quite a surprise, even to me! Congratulations are in order to the following Bidders as despite the negative Press in this Jamaica first ever Energy Bidding process, they’ve prevailed:
