DIY Alternative Energy - Keeping Cool and Electricity Bills low in 2047 during Global Warming

“From a production standpoint, there is considerable capacity to produce the various types of insulation. From a technical standpoint, there are multiple options for reducing the effects of solar-heat loading on structures, both at the building envelope and within the structure itself”

Managing Director of Spectrum Systems Limited, Andrew Stanigar, commenting on news of Global Warming prediction of Temperature increases and the increased need for Insulation in Jamaica

Within the next Decade, Global warming is set to make Temperature in Equatorial and Temperate Regions much higher, driving up the cost of cooling a typical Household and chancing the current climates zones globally by 2047 as asserted by a recent Study published in the Journal Nature as stated in “Global warming to scorch past milestone in 2047, study predicts”, published Oct 10, 2013 11:33 AM ET Last Updated: Oct 10, 2013 2:44 PM ET, The Associated Press via the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation

Jamaica will have to bulk up on insulation in the next Decade, as after that year, the temperatures will be higher than the record setting ones in 2005 as stated in Jamaica To See Hotter Climate In 10 Years, Published Friday October 11, 2013 by Daviot Kelly, Staff Reporter, The Jamaica Gleaner.

This is just not good, whether or not you believe in Global Warming, whether or not you question the methodology of the study or even if humans are causing it or not. These are very bad year-on-year projections any way you spin it folks. It’s gonna get as hot as hell in Jamaica as we’re barely 18 Degrees North of the Equator!

To this end, that simply translates to increased need for insulation in homes and houses in Jamaica, specifically as it relates to keeping cool as stated in the article “Building-insulation industry expected to grow with climate change”, Published Saturday October 12, 2013, The Jamaica Gleaner.

This falls in line with Predictions by Dr. Michael Taylor, Climatologist and Head of the Department of Physics, Pure and Applied Sciences, University of the West Indies at the Energy Conference 2011 on Monday September 19th 2011AD in my blog article entitled “Dr. Taylor's states Global Warming increasing Jamaica's Energy Bill - Vybz Kartel's Summertime Soylent Green

These costs relate to very expensive modifications to homes and houses involving such housing modification typical of houses located in the Desert Regions of the world such as Saudi Arabia. These modifications include:

1.      Painting the entire house white, including the roof, to reflect more solar Radiation
2.      Black Tar Heat barriers under the roof to keep heat out and keep inside of the house cool
3.      Solar Power being installed in the house to keep the House Cool and reduce electricity costs
4.      Rubber insulation seals around doors and windows to keep Cool Air from the Air conditioning unit inside and heat out
5.      Tinted windows to keep Solar Radiation from coming inside of the house via windows and skylights

As Cooling is directly related to electricity usage, some tips on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Units can also prove useful to reduce you electricity consumption are described in my blog article entitled DIY Alternative Energy - How to make a portable Refrigerator and Simple tips to reduce your house's Electricity Bill are the 2 Guns you need”.

Whether you plan to spend money on increased Home Insulation or trying to find means of reducing your Electricity Bill due to refrigeration and Cooling the House via going the Alternative Energy route, it’s best you bite the high cost bullet and get cracking on your plans before 2015.
