How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - How to use Emailing, Hyperlinks and Pictures to add the Personal Tech Touch and get interviews

In your hunt for work, one of the most expensive parts of the job hunt process is sending out applications letters. These letters tend to be best delivered via the Postal System and as such you have to pay to have your letters sent. That cost quickly adds up and if you’re on a budget, especially as you may have to print on paper and envelopes, all of which are an additional cost.

Plus it’s best to hand-deliver written Application anyway, as not only does it save you money on postage but it also gives you a chance to meet the Human Resources manager and make an impression where it counts.

However, this is the ideal situation. If you live at the far end of the island, the personal delivery of Applications may not be possible before being called for an interview. Thus as a job hunter, the best option is making applications via email. If you’ve read my blog article entitledHow to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - Job Agencies, Applications with Proposals and Reading the Sunday Gleaner for Fast and the Furious 6 Tips and Tricks” you’d realize where to start the job hunt.

If all else fails, you may end up having to resort to working in a Call Center for awhile before you can land a good job in the Real world as suggested in my blog article entitledHow to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - While Moonlighting on a Call Center Salary Jamaican Jobs listed Online so you can Hunt for your Dream Job”.

It’s also a great idea to make sure that your Social Networking doesn’t affect your chances of getting a job, as you have some really strange managers that dislike Social Media and may use what you’ve posted on it against you in an interview.

To that end, knowing what to post and where to post in on Facebook is a good bit of knowledge to have now that Facebook is totally open as I’d pointed out in my blog article entitled FaceBook now gives Teenagers the power to make Public Posts - How making everything Public on Facebook improves their Advertising Revenue”.

Emailing a Job Application – Hyperlinks and Pictures add the Personal Tech Touch

Most of the jobs listed in the Career Section as well as in the Classified Sections of the Sunday Gleaner often have the option to email, as many of these companies know the difficulties of the cost associated with sending written letters. Emailing is a lot cheaper as you only need access to the Internet be it at home or at a Internet Cafe, Microsoft Word and an email account, preferably written in your name e.g. lindsworth.deer@gmail.com.

Email may seem a bit impersonal so you can include a scanned picture of yourself in your application sent via email as well as hyperlinks to a copy of your  resume and Qualifications e.g. my Degree in Electronics and Chemistry as I have done in my Application Letter as in your Resume.

Keeping the Application letter brief and short is also a great idea, as they’re not necessarily known for their love of prose. Also good is to give your prospective employers an idea of how much money you want. You might lose out on interviews, but if you need a certain level of salary to sustain yourself, especially if you have children and other expenses such as rent or a mortgage, then it’s best to state your salary expectations upfront.

Finally, in sending Application letters based on leads from the Career Section as well as in the Classified Sections of the Sunday Gleaner, make sure that you include the Address. Even though it’s an email, it’s best to at least google their names using The Jamaica Yellow Pages.
