Businessman Mark Phillip's Palcohol gets TTD Approval – Drinkers will judge Powdered Alcohol from Low Temperature Nitrogen Atmosphere Vacuum Evaporation

Dear reader, do you want to become more like Jesus and learn how to turn Water into wine?
Well, read on and I’ll show you how to perform something similar to Jesus’ logic defying trick with the help of a new Product, called Palcohol as stated in “Powdered Alcohol approved (hiccup or hooray?)”, published April 21, 2014 4:11 PM PDT by Chris Matyszczyk, CNET News.


Entrepreneur and businessman Mark Phillips, an avid outdoorsman and apparent Playboy, though it odd that Alcohol didn't exist in Powdered form. So he created the first such product for the active outdoorsman and Playboy, dubbed Palcholol, a concentration of "powdered" and "Alcohol as reported in “Powdered Alcohol Coming To The US” published April 21, 2014 by Lisa Winter, I fucking Love Science.

Thus the packaging of Palcholol, most likely a sealed silver lined bag, has to be as such so as to prevent the absorption of water from the atmosphere, which would make the powder lumpy and difficult to dissolve. My concerns about taste doesn’t even cover safety, as the TTB (U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) merely certifies it’s drinkable, not nutritious or even safe for consumption, something that would involve the oversight of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as this is clearly a potential Drug.

Palcohol is a great idea – Drinkers of the Real McKoy judge of Body, Texture and Taste 

For those who believe this is going to snortable, it's not, to quote the Palcohol Website: “We have seen comments about goofballs wanting to snort it. Don't do it! It is not a responsible or smart way to use the product. To take precautions against this action, we've added volume to the powder so it would take more than a half of a cup of powder to get the equivalent of one drink up your nose. You would feel a lot of pain for very little gain. Just use it the right way”.

So with that possible drug use out the window, we’re left with a wonderful product that can produce the following flavours of Alcohol once Water is added:

1.      Rum
2.      Vodka
3.      Cosmopolitan
4.      Mojito
5.      Margarita
6.      Lemon drop

Best of all about this product, is that it's portable, allowing you to enjoy a drink wherever and whenever, even smuggleing it into places where it wouldn't normally be allowed. Change Water for any other flavoured chaser and you have the ability to create any cocktail for any occasion anytime, anyplace, anywhere. My only grouse is that there isn’t any wine flavours, possibly because of the process used to make powdered Alcohol, which basically involves making stable anhydrous crystals of Alcohol by dehydrating the original product.

Having being recently granted approval by the TTB (U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) to peddle his product in the US of A legally, the only question that remains are how close to the Real Mckoy is powdered alcohol in terms of taste, texture and body. I know that powdered Lasco taste better than milk, and it comes in a larger variety of flavours.

Whether or not this will taste like the drinks it’ll replace and be as potent in terms of alcoholic content is of greater interest to me than any negative health effects, as by logic, alcohol is already bad for your live in liquid form!

But unless you have a portable blender to properly mix the powder into the water, which has to be warm, it’ll have floating lumps of powder both suspended in the liquid as well settling at the bottom of the Glass. All these things are a turn off as that would mean the texture would be off-putting, as nobody likes drinking alcohol and tasting lumps of alcohol powder on the tip of their tongue.

Then aside from the taste is whether or not it has body i.e. thickness that ‘s akin to the original alcohol beverage it’s supposed to taste like or is it just really a kiddy crystalline Quench Aid or Tang with Alcohol added. It’s gotta pass all these taste tests with the general public, otherwise it’ll end up as just a another high-society form of Ecstasy only the noveau Reich enjoy “up in da Club” and not at general Social Gathering.

How to make Palcohol – Low Temperature Nitrogen Atmosphere Vacuum Evaporation

Now as any Chemist can tell, you, direct heat to Alcohol will cause it to evaporate first out of solution if not burst into flames. Alcohol has a boiling point lower than any liquid it’s mixed into. However, if the process of Evaporation is done using radiation instead of direct heat on the original product containing the Alcohol and in a low pressure inert atmosphere of Nitrogen, you can get the cocktail solution to “throw up” crystals of Alcohol.

This is basically Vacuum Evaporation used by CEO of Sweetie Confectionary Patria Kay-Aarons to extract the volatile flavours from fruits to make candy as described in my blog article entitled “Sweetie Confectionery CEO Patria-Kaye Aarons to launch Jamaican Flavoured Candy - May the Force be with the Weather Presenter as it's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”.

I call it Low Temperature Solar Radiation Nitrogen Atmosphere Vacuum Evaporation! Has a nice scientific ring to it! So here goes the simplified explaintion.

Alcohol has a boiling point of 25 Degrees Celsius at STP (standard Temperature and Pressure). Water boils at 100 Degrees Celsius at STP. But in a vacuum, Water will boil at Room Temperature, which is 25 Degrees Celsius. Since the produce you want is the Alcohol, you have to pre-chill the vacuum chamber to way below the boiling point of Alcohol, roughly about -53 Degrees Celsius. 

The solution containing the Alcohol is then heated using radiation in a manner similar to Vacuum Pyrolysis as described in my blog article entitled “How to upgrade your Solar Desalinator to a Solar Cooker and make a Solar Foundry for Vacuum Pyrolysis”, instead of direct flame or electric arch in a low – pressure atmosphere of inert Nitrogen so as to control the evaporation process and prevent oxidation of the product. 

The more volatile Alcohol is vapourised, boiling out vigorously from the Alcohol-Water mixture leaving behind the Water in liquid form. Once the air mixture is rich enough in Alcohol/Nitrogen vapour, it is then siphoned off via vacuum and then chilled to below -53 Degrees Celsius, at which point the crystals of Alcohol will condense out of the Nitrogen/Alcohol vapor.

This stabilized the anhydrous Alcohol in a form that won’t evaporate at room temperature. But because of its volatile nature, it’ll feel cold to touch and most likely be white, powdery crystals. These crystals of Alcohol cannot survive outside of this chilled environment.

So they are combined with crystallizing agents that binds the Alcohol under vacuum i.e. other longer chain molecules that may be flavinoids and coloring agents that make up a particular drink mix, possible left behind from the original evaporation process. This is what Entrepreneur and businessman Mark Phillips may be alluding to when he said “we've added volume to the powder”. 

That would definitely make snorting anhydrous crystals of Alcohol resulting in painful nasal bleeding and sinus problems due to the long chain hydrocarbons not being so easily absorbed through the normally absorbent cells of the Nasal cavity.

If it wasn’t scary enough that E-Cigarettes can possibly give you lung Cancer as reported in my blog article entitled “Boston University Study indicates E-Cigarettes can cause Lung Cancer - Carcinogenic Second Hand Vapour-Nicotine Aerosol as Marijuana E-Cigarettes Light up” now come a new phenomenon: Powdered Alcohol Snorting!

As for me, I’m waiting until they make powdered Red Stripe or even Red Sorbet Wine, as this sounds like an expensive product initially due to its portability. If it does pass FDA approval, expect prices to gradually do down due to the fact that the packaging is cheaper than a glass bottle.
