How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - US$5-million Call Center in Portmore jointly being built by UCC and Property Developer Gordon Tewani

Call Center Agents peeps working at the at ACCENT Marketing, Xerox or FullGram Solutions,, I’ve got news that’s more interesting than Chikungunya or even what Kiki tried to wear as clothing on Smile Saturdays.

This as the UCC (University College of the Caribbean) and Property Developer Gordon Tewani have partnered to build a US$5-million Call Center in Portmore as stated in the article “UCC, Tewani partners on US$5-m BPO facility for Portmore”, published Sunday, October 05, 2014, The Jamaica Observer.

An apparently Minister of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining, Phillip Paulwell, was in attendance!

This isn't much of a surprise really. The UCC already has a UCC Academy that works with Heart Trust/NTA to train Call Center Agents, Supervisor as well as Quality Assurance Agents for the Call Center World. Their facility 40,000 sq ft, most likely to be located close to the UCC in Portland, St. Catherine, will be have some 550 seats. With three (3) eight (8) hour shifts, that translates to some 1,500 Call Center Agents.

This will complement Xerox and other Call Centers in the Portmore, St. Catherine region. most likely, however, like the partnership between Sutherland Global and the University of the West Indies as noted in my blog article entitled “How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - Sutherland Global Service is now hiring Full-Time Customer Care Consultants to work at the Mona Technology Park as Christmas draws nigh” it'll initially target college students from the UCC, particularly those leaving UCC Academy.

This knocks down some of the 45,000 Call Center Agents that BPIAJ (Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica) Chairman and President Yoni Epstein claims that Jamaica is capable of employing in this US$350 million Cash Cow for the GOJ (Government of Jamaica) as noted in my blog article entitled How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - BPIAJ Call Center Agent Training School for US$900,000 as Montego Bay Freezone Expands”.

By 2018, 10,000 more Jamaica will be employed in the Call Center world. I'll be keeping my ears to the ground as to when this Call Center will be going live. Until then watch this article.
