The
Apple Watch is yet to launch but Apple is still signing up business partners to
use Apple Pay, their Mobile money solution that’ll come baked inside of the
Apple Watch.
And
their latest catch?
JetBlue Airlines of course, who’ll now be
accepting Apple Pay as legal tender to pay for in-flight meals, Champagne and
even upgrading from Coach to First Class as stated in the article “JetBlue
becomes first airline to accept Apple Pay in the skies”, published February
10, 2015 By Trevor Mogg, Digitaltrends.
This
feature will be available on JetBlue Airlines
flights by the week of Sunday February 15th 2015 specifically on
flights between JFK and airports in San Francisco and LA as the guinea pig run,
with the other routes falling in line by June 2015 as stated in the article “Apple
Pay takes to the skies via JetBlue”, published February 10, 2015, by Edward
C. Baig, USA TODAY.
Simply
put, if you're flying on any of these flights and you happen to be toting an
Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus that’s packin’ NFC as noted in my blog article
entitled “Apple
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus - No Sapphire Screen but 128GB Storage and
NFC-powered Apple Pay in Apple's Biggest iPhone Launch”, you can use Apple
Pay to pay for your in-flight meals, drinks and yes, possibly tickets.
Good
to note here that Apple has a very cozy relationship with JetBlue Airlines.
As
usual, the FAA (Federal Aviation Authority) had to approve the Tablets for
usage at 35,000 feet. The Federal Aviation Administration had to approve the
new Apple iPad Mini 3's before they could be used onboard.
What
a First Quarter of 2015 for Apple!

The
Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus, which has set record breaking sales in
the Fourth Quarter of 2014. Apple has sold some US$18 Billion or approximately 74.5 Million iPhones worldwide
as reported in the article “‘Staggering’
iPhone Demand Helps Lift Apple’s Quarterly Profit by 38%”, published Jan. 28, 2015 3:50 a.m. ET By DAISUKE

It
has now been confirmed by analyst Kantar
Worldpanel ComTech that sales of the Apple iPhone 6 have beaten Google
Android in the Fourth Quarter of 2014 as detailed in my blog article
entitled “Apple
beats Android by a nose in the US of A - EU loves Apple but in China Xiaomi
mojo is strong as India beckons”.
Interestingly,
rumours abound as it relates to Google Pay and competitors Samsung making
another stab at Mobile payments as the video from USA TODAY suggests.
So
combine this news with the fact that Apple has accepted Paypal as a payment
option back in December 2014 as stated in my blog article
entitled “Apple
supports PayPal for US and UK Item Purchases - How Jamaicans can purchase Apple
iPhones online as Fappening haunting Apple”.
In
effect, this latest bit of News means you can, technically speaking, via
Bitcoin conversion services, pay for your airline tickets on JetBlue Airlines with Bitcoins using your
Apple Watch, which is coming by April 2015 as noted in my blog article
entitled “Apple
CEO says Apple Watch coming April 2015 - Developer on Red Alert for
Customizable Metals and Minerals Sophistication”.
It
also suggests that the next Apple iPad might come with NFC goodness baked
inside, making the burgeoning e-commerce Market another area ripe for expansion
for the Apple iPad to reverse the fall off in the Tablet Sales as suggested in my
blog article
entitled “IDC
Stats suggest Tablet Freefall in 2015 – How to sell Tablets using built-in
Keyboards and Carrier Unlocked SIM Cards”.
Can’t
wait for the Apple Watch to land in April 2015!
