How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - US$16 million StarTek Trek into ACCENT Marketing signals Hiring on the Horizon

“Accent's CEA service offering complements the acquisition of Ideal Dialogue in 2013 and creates a very capable CEA solution platform with added customer analytics capabilities," said  "This step is in line with our strategy to engage in a different and more meaningful way with clients while adding higher value service offerings”

President of StarTek, Chad Carlson, commenting on their purchase of ACCENT Marketing on Monday May 11th 2015 which will be finalized by Sunday May 31st 2015

Folks in the Call Center World, especially at ACCENT Marketing, it's your time again. I've got news that's more interesting the strange obsession that Emprezz Golding has for taking selfies.

I'm of course referring to the sale of ACCENT Marketing to Colorado-based BPO (Business Processing Outsourcing) company, StarTek, for approximately US$16 million as reported in the article “Accent Sells BPO Operations In Jamaica, New Owners Have No Plans To Expand”, published Wednesday May 13, 2015, Camilo Thame, The Jamaica Gleaner

ACCENT Marketing is a prize catch for StarTek, allowing them to add some 2,000 seats and 2,300 member of start, 700 of whom are telecommuting Call Center agents affiliated with either ACCENT's Montego Bay Location of New Kingston Location at 63 Knutsford Boulevard, Kingston 5.

This is quite an historic occasion for the almost ten (10) year old company that a stated out in 2006 in New Kingston at 63 Knutsford Boulevard and eventually opened up their second location in Montego Bay in 2013.  Once the Deal closes on Sunday May 31st 2015, StarTek will have:

1.      50 clients
2.      14,000 Employees
3.      Call Centers in five (5) countries

The deal, part of a US$50 million loan from BMO Harris Bank, once rationalized into their day-to-day operations, will help increase StarTek's revenue of US$250-million per annum by some 25%.

So says the official statement from StarTek on Monday May 11th 2015, quote: “We remain focused on executing for our clients, converting our strong pipeline to fill existing and new capacity, and quickly integrating Accent to allow us to get back to generating cash and paying down debt”.

So does this mean that salaries will go up? Highly unlikely, but it does mean that their might be some new hiring at the Call Center. Now would be a good time as any to drop off an application at ACCENT Marketing.
