Why NCB's Online Account Opening as CIBC First Caribbean, First Global, Sagicor and Scotiabank Mobile Money Looms

NCB it seems is on a roll as it relates to Banking Innovation.

As of Monday January 22nd 2016, they've now made it possible to open NCB Accounts via their Online Account Opening portal as shown below.

This means you can initiate opening a brand new NCB Account from the comfort of your home by making the application process quite easy. All you have to do is to click on the button marked “Open an Account” to access the Online Account Opening portal.

NCB has upgraded their online Platform so that you can submit your supporting document by scanning them with a scanner like the US$149 Pocketscan Wireless Scanner as explained in my MICO Wars blog article entitled “How US$149 Pocketscan Wireless Scanner makes Document Scanning easy”.

You can also use your smartphone and the Microsoft Office Lens OCR Scanner as explained in my MICO Wars blog article entitled “Microsoft Office Lens OCR Scanner converts images to Microsoft Office Documents” to convert the required document into images you can upload into the  Online Account Opening portal.

With this feature you can:

1.      Apply for your deposit, loan, credit card, investment and insurance products online
2.      Reduce time spent in-branch
3.      Make future applications easier as your profile is automatically stored

NCB has finally made the first steps into the 21st century as they prepare for their eventual launch of mobile money. They've already jumped onto the Cross-Bank Transfer wagon as noted in my blog article entitled “Why NCB's Cross-Bank Transfers follows CIBC First Caribbean, First Global, Sagicor and Scotiabank as Mobile Money Looms”.

The ability to open NCB Accounts via their Online Account Opening portal makes your in-bank wait a lot easier, as you no longer have to stand in a long line, as a special in-branch queue has been created to validate your application.

Now if only the Jamaica Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer could allow you to post Advertisements online for the same price as a regular advertisement as this system makes life easier.
