After I did the article on how to Embed Facebook
Videos and Pictures in your website or blog as explained in my blog article
entitled “How
to share and embed Facebook Photos, Albums and Videos to Share and Promote your
Content Online - Sharing is Caring”, many of my Blogger stablemates are
interested in learning more about further integration of Facebook into their
Blog.
If you have a Blogger Blog, you already know how to
get more traffic by activating the Google+ Integration on your Blog and then
adding the Google+
Followers and Google+ Follow Gadgets. If you don’t know then read the
instructions in the helpful Google article “Grow
your audience with the Google+ followers gadget”, published November 27,
2012, Blogger Buzz and then watch the
video below:
This article is dedicated to integrating a Facebook
Like Box into your Blogger page, allowing you to benefit from increased Traffic
from Social Media Websites. So sit tight and pull out a KitKat, as that’s gonna
be the hot candy for the Christmas 2013 thanks to Google Android 4.4 aka KitKat
as explained in my Geezam blog article entitled
“Google
Android 4.4 is now KitKat as Nestle-Google Secret Deal makes Android the first
Product Placement OS”!
Using
Social Media to increase Blog Traffic – The Facebook Profile Page
It’s no secret that you can boost traffic to your
blog by simply registering it with a Blog Search Engine or Blog Directory as
listed in my blog
article entitled “How
to make US Dollars as Freelance Web Content or Blog Affiliate Writer Online in
Jamaica using your Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit Card”. Here’s the List
of Blog Search Engine or Blog Directory to refresh your memory:
Search
Engines for blogs
2. Syndic8
Blog
Directories
Note here that Google is a general purpose Search
Engine that searches the Internet via spiders that crawl through Databases
every once in awhile. So Registering with a Blog Search Engine or Blog
Directory and with Google’s Search Engine has a double whammy effect. Adding a
Facebook Like Box ramps up traffic as:
1. Visitors
to your blog via Facebook can like your blog and subscribe to updates from your
blog.
2. You
can get an idea of how many fans you REALLY have, as opposed to casual readers
of your blog
3. Increases
Blog Traffic thanks to the built in readership of your blog
It’s a lot easier than sending email Newsletters as
Jamaicans hardly read newspapers but they spend most of their time on Facebook
as noted in my Geezam
blog article entitled “Jamaica’s
Low Net Penetration – Broadband Internet A Universal Right”
First, you have to get a profile Page for your blog.
A personal Page is just a regular free Facebook page. A Profile Page comes
chock full of Facebook Developer Tools that you can use to gauge Traffic to
your Facebook page and also your blog as explained in “Pages
and Profiles are NOT the same”,
viewed August 27 2013 by Lindsworth, published by Kerry Kimone, Kerry is Social.
A Profile Page is basically the same as a Fan Page
that Facebook forces on you after you’ve hit 5000 likes, as you’re a famous
personality. So getting a Profile Page, especially if you have a business or if
you’re a Media Personality is important, as you have more analytical tools on
your page that can tell you more granular details about your Facebook Traffic.
Once that’s done, then follow the steps to setting
up a Facebook Like Box as detailed in “Add
Facebook like/fan Box To Blogger Blog Easily”, published by Mohammad
Ishtiaq, MyBlogger Tricks:
2.
Visiting your Facebook Profile
page
3.
Copy and Paste your profile Page
URL (Universal Resource Locator) into the section that says “Facebook Page URL”
4.
Set other parameters such as width,
height and stream. Check the Preview that shows the updated appearance of the
Like Box
5.
Click Get Code button when done.
6.
Copy the iframe code only.
7.
Log into your Blogger blog and go
to Blogger Dashboard
Select Layout
Select Layout
8.
Click Add-A-Gadget link.
9.
Select HTML/Javascript
gadget
10. Paste the
code in the content box.
11. Preview
your Blog to see hot it looks. If it needs adjusting, you may have to go back
to step one and rebuild the Facebook Like Box to make it appear the way you
wish
12. Save and
check the appearance of your blog
That’s it! Once you follow these simple steps, you can add both a
Facebook Like Box and a Google+ Plus Box and thereby increase Social Media
Engagement and Fans of your page.
