How to make US Dollars as Freelance Web Content or Blog Affiliate Writer Online in Jamaica using your Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit Card

An opportunity awaits the independent writer of content to write, publish and promote their own e-books in PDF as described in my blog article entitled “How to Create PDF Documents using PDFCreator” and e-pub format especially as Tablets and e-Readers are set to become very popular among High School and UWI (University of the West Indies) students in the Fourth Quarter of 2013 and beyond.

You can then choose to self-publish and then market your e-pub book by uploading it to a Cloud Drive and then creating a link to your book to be post it all over Social Media e.g. Facebook Profile Page, Twitter Account or on your blog or website as described in my blog article entitled “How to use Dropbox, Google Drive and Sound File Sharing Websites to Share and Promote your Content online - Sharing is Caring”:

1.      Social Media i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, YouTube
2.      Email
3.      Newsletters
4.      Personal Blog or Website
5.      Business Cards and Flyers
6.      Traditional Media i.e. Radio, Television Newspaper

You can also contact one of the twenty one (21) local Publishers to publish your book both in e-Book and paperback and even hardback format as described in the BIAJ’s (Book Industry of Jamaica) article on How to Become an Author:

1.      Arawak Publishers
2.      Bala Press
3.      Carlong Publishers
4.      Great House Omnimedia
5.      Ian Randle Publishers
6.      Institute of Jamaica
7.      Jackmandora
8.      Jamaica Publishing House
9.      Jamrite
10.  LMH Publishing
11.  Mid-Island Publishers
12.  Miller Publishing
13.  Pelican Publishers
14.  Planning Institute of Jamaica
15.  Polar Bear
16.  Reggae Pickney
17.  SALISES
18.  SunZone
19.  The Mill Press
20.  Twin Guinep
21.  University of the West Indies Press

Finding the addresses of the above local publishers is as simple as using Google or the Jamaica Yellow Pages, though you must be aware that different publishers have different requirements of authors of original work.

Marketing your book takes awhile, though, even with the power of Social Networking. Whether you choose to market the book yourself, go to one of the local publisher or even a big International Publisher and Seller of Books such as Amazon or Barnes and Noble, it won’t happen overnight.

Worst case scenario, it may take at least 2 years and several published book later before you’ll get any good traction for your published book, be it in e-pub, paperback or Hardcover format. Like a blog or website, a book marketed via the above mentioned still requires the follows as stated in the article “5 Tips for Creating Traffic Driving Blog Posts”, published July 15, 2013 by Brianna Smith, Social Media Today:

1.      Make sure you choose the type of book you wish to publish and writer you wish to become, be it a fiction or non-fiction. Remember to be flexible and try your hand at both fields and not restrict yourself
2.      Use Pictures and even interactive videos in your e-book. Remember your e-book is being read on an e-reader or Tablet, so integrating Videos into your e-book makes it more engaging
3.      Write an Attention Grabbing Subject Line
4.      Post the link for your e-book frequently on Social Media
5.      Publish books frequently. Don't just publish one book and stop writing. Publish short stories and article in the meantime
6.      Adding your personal insight to your book i.e. your personal experiences, helps your book connect better with your target audience
7.      Engage your fans via link to download your e-book, sign up for alerts when you'll publish another book

If you publish your book on a website or blog, it’ll have to get a lot of traffic. Aside from the above mentioned methods, there is also registering with Blog Search Engines and Blog Aggregators, basically logs detailed listings or Directories of blogs in various Categories as listed in the articles “23 Blog Directories To Submit Your Blog To” published November 20, 2007 by Loren Baker, SearchEngineJournal  and “Use Blog Aggregators To Drive More Traffic To Your Site or Blog”, published April 22, 2013 by Mayra in Content Marketing, MetvtheChannel:

As mentioned above, you’ll have to continue publishing in-between books. So while you continue to market your books and await your recognition to come along, you can become a work-at-home flex-worker, be it in the Call-Center World or any other flex-Work based job as it has the following benefits as outlined in my blog article entitled “Crowdsourced, Teleworking Flex-work Publishers needed for UWI and High School Students with Tablets in 2014 - How Jamaican Writers can make money via ePub Publishing Books”.

After all the days of permanent employment for year are over, slowly being replaced with a Contractual, Flex-Working Workplace! So the quicker you get used to this reality in Jamaica the better. As a writer, therefore, it suits you to be a work-at-home flex-Worker in a field related to writing.

Thus I’d recommend that as a writer, you also work online as a Blog Affiliate or Content Writer.  Here’s a decent list of Blog Affiliate or Content Writer Websites that pay you to write for them as stated in the article “20 Sites To Get Paid For Writing And Blogging – Best Of”, viewed August 25 2013 By Brian, Hongkiat:

1.      Squidoo
2.      HubPages
3.      ContentBLVD
4.      Helium
5.      Triond
6.      Epinions
7.      Fiverr
9.      Demand Media Studios
11.  About.Com
13.  Blogging.Org
14.  Bukisa
15.  Content Row
17.  Xomba
18.  Wizzley
19.  Zujava

Remember before you can use any of these Blog Affiliate or Content Writer websites, make sure you have the following:

1.      A Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit Card to make payments as well as to set up the PayPal Account
2.      A PayPal Account to receive payments
3.      A Proxy Site to allow you to logon to the website as if you were in the US of A as explained in my blog article entitled “How to find Free TV online and how to Stream from Hulu or Netflix in Jamaica - Jamaican Pirate of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides Streaming Restricted US Content
4.      A US Mailing address in case you need to receive mail or Cheques. This can be the same Mailing Address as used in Online Shopping as described in my blog article entitled “How to purchase items and subscribe to Magazines online and ship them to Jamaica”.

That’s it. Follow the Blog Affiliate or Content Writer website’s Instructions and Rules for submitting articles and if you’re as good as you claim, you can earn money paid to you in the form of cheques as explained in my Geezam blog article entitled “How to use Scotia VISA Debit Card Online” in-between marketing and writing books!

This’ll spread your fame and name as a writer as the more content your produce the more your name get’s recognized for writing great content and thus the more money you’ll eventually make. You might even make a living as a Writer as Jamaica improves our Wired and Wireless Broadband Coverage, PC’s and Laptops get cheaper, Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit Card become more prevalent and Tablet adoption in Jamaica gets on the upswing!
