Apple buys Israeli-based Primesense that makes the Microsoft Kinect - Apple's Siri and Kinect Heralds of a coming world free of Remote Controls

Apple has done it yet again and has inched us closer to a World Controlled by our Voices and Gestures as predicted in my Geezam blog article entitled “Siri and Kinect: Heralds of a coming world free of Remote Controls”!

And why do I say this?

Because Apple had confirmed on Sunday November 24th 2013 the news of their purchasing Israeli-based Primesense, the company behind the technology that makes the Microsoft Kinect as stated in the article “Apple Confirms Acquisition of 3-D Sensor Startup PrimeSense”, published November 24, 2013 at 3:01 pm PT by Mike Isaac and John Paczkowski, All Things Digital and “Apple confirms deal for 3D sensing company PrimeSense”, published November 24, 2013 4:06 PM PST by Steven Musil, CNET News.

This is the latest innovation that may be coming to the Apple iPhone 6 and the Apple iPad Air and even the Apple Television set in 2014: Gesture control and Facial Recognition. The deal was originally reported as going down for some US$345 million as reported by “Apple Aiming at PrimeSense Acquisition, but Deal Is Not Yet Done”, published November 17, 2013 at 11:09 am PT by Liz Gannes, All Things Digital and “Apple reportedly acquires PrimeSense for $345M”, published November 17, 2013 9:00 AM PST by Steven Musil, CNET News.

Controlling your Apple Gadgets with your Voice and your Gestures may be coming sooner than you think, possibly with Facial Recognition based on a recent Apple patent as stated in the article “Imagine your face as your future iPhone password”, published December 3, 2013 6:45 AM PST by Lance Whitney, CNET News.

Primesense and Apple – Theremin Computers may be in Apple Crystal Ball

You may remember Primesense as the maker of the 3D Motion Tracking Technology behind the Microsoft Kinect as described in my blog article entitled “Internet, Apple iTV and Cable - Pirates of the Caribbean”. This acquisition was originally reported by an Israeli Newspaper as Far back as July 2013 as stated in the article “Apple in talks to acquire company behind Microsoft's Kinect”, published July 16, 2013 5:00 AM PDT by Don Reisinger, CNET News and back then the asking prices was about US$280 million.

Apple apparently has a thing for Israeli companies having shelled out US$400 million for Anobit in 2012 as stated in the article “Apple confirms Anobit acquisition”, published January 10, 2012 4:56 PM PST by Steven Musil, CNET News. That acquisition gave Apple control over the manufacture of FLASH Memory made for their products and allows them to control prices, making sure that they not only have a ready supply of FLASH Memory but also controlling competitors’ access to their technology.

This acquisition of Primesense means that Apple may soon be integrating 3D Motion Capture and Facial Recognition Technology in everything from the Apple iPad and Apple iPhone to the upcoming Apple Television set as predicted in my blog article entitled “Apple to launch TV and a Cloud Gaming Console in 2014 - How the Apple iTV and Television Set can kill The Grandmaster in the guise of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft”.
The Leap Motion Controller may be coming to HP (Hewlett Packard) PC’s and Laptops as stated in my blog article entitled “Leap Motion Controller went live on Monday July 22 2013 - How a Theremin Computer Device revives PC sales as Everything is Possible to be controlled by Voice and Motion”. But Apple may yet beat them to this Minority Report (2002) with Kinect Motion Capture Technology and improved Siri Voice Control Technology! Apple's Siri and Kinect Heralds of a coming world free of Remote Controls.
