Blackberry Messenger is Most Downloaded in November 2013 and is poised to beat WhatsApp - BBM is now on the Rising Tide of the Mobile Social Messaging Network Summer of Love

BBM was hot being the most downloaded Social Messaging App on Apple iPhones in November 2013 based on the stats presented by analyst Distimo‘s latest new messaging App survey in Forbes Magazine’s writer Tero Kuittinen as stated in the article Exclusive New Survey Shows BlackBerry's BBM Beating WhatsApp And SnapChat In Key Markets”, published 11/26/2013 @ 12:01PM by Tero Kuittinen, Forbes Magazine.

Even more interesting is that BBM is beating WhatsApp, which according to CTIA stats in May 2013 was the Top Dog in Social Messaging, a mish mash of Social Networks and Instant Messaging as reported in my blog article entitled “CTIA reports a 5% decline in US Texting as Instant Messaging ramps up - WhatsApp's now Top Gun as The Dead Zone leads Star Trek Into the Darkness”.

Well not any more if analyst Distimo’s Stats, as neatly shown in the graph below are accurate as according to their stats, Blackberry is not only beating WhatsApp in traditional markets like UK and India where they were never popular on iOS Platform, but they've gained a decidedly uncomfortable advantage among smartphone-toting Millennial (ages 18 to 28) customers in the US of A as well.

What makes this more interesting is that while BBM’s poised to beat WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s already trouncing Facebook Messaging, who’s No. 1 in the US only based on analyst OnDevice Stats as noted in my blog article entitled “Facebook is Trailing Behind WhatsApp in Social Messaging - Teenagers and Millennials wooed by Mobile Social Networks on smartphones and Tablets that have Snapchat-esque Privacy Controls”.

It’ll be very interesting to see what the stats look like when they come out for Google Android, the traditional strong and safe haven for WhatsApp.  I’d definately to see the stats in another three (3) to six (6) months time to see if the usage of the BBM App stacks up to those of WhatsApp. Ditto too the stats on the Google Android Platform!

This doesn’t really surprise me; I had pretty much predicted that this would happen as love for BBM would propel them back to the top of the Social Messaging dogpile as opined in my blog article entitled “Blackberry launched free BBM App for Apple iPhone and Android smartphones - First true Mobile Social Network is Bob Marley Could You Be loved against WhatsApp”.

BBM now Free - Blackberry Messenger now on a path to become a Mobile Social Network

In my Geezam blog article entitled “Free Blackberry Messenger App coming to Android and iOS” I first broke the story of BBM being made free and coming on Apple iPhones and Google Android smartphones. Blackberry is now no more and is doomed as pointed out in “Sorry, but BlackBerry is doomed”, published September 20, 2013 1:15 PM PDT by Roger Cheng, CNET News, despite so many Jamaican still clutching on to their Blackberry smartphones.

The very popular mobile devices has ridden off into the sunset on Tuesday November 5th 2013 as my Geezam blog article entitled “Blackberry sold to Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited as BBM goes free”.

BBM was set free before the walk the Earth and is now popping tags on Android and iOS noted in Free Blackberry Messenger App coming to Android and iOS. Meanwhile Former CEO Mike Lazaridis and Fairfax Financial Holdings are trying to relive the good times despite the history of Blackberry’s failings as chronicled in my blog article entitled “Blackberry being rescued by former co-CEO Mike Lazaridis - Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited is Fire and Blood as BBM goes free”. They will fail as people love BBM, not Blackberry!

BBM and the Summer of Love  - Rising Tide of the Mobile Social Messaging Network

This is strong evidence that it was the love for BBM IM (Instant Mesenger) Platform that was keeping Blackberry going all along in the face of their lack of innovation as I’d long ago concluded in my Geezam blog article entitled “Android smartphones may be king in 2015AD, but RIM Blackberry quality shines” and my blog article entitled “Blackberry launched free BBM App for Apple iPhone and Android smartphones - First true Mobile Social Network is Bob Marley Could You Be loved against WhatsApp”.

After all, it’s now US$1 to use WhatsApp’s service, meaning it isn’t absolutely free as noted in my Geezam blog article entitled “How to use WhatsApp on your Computer”. With WhatsApp now being slowly eaten by BBM Love, are we now seeing early signs of the fading glory of WhatsApp?

Only the Stats can tell the Tale of the Rise of the Phoenix called Blackberry Messenger. Jamaicans can now for the first time switch to a smartphone and still have BBM as described in my Geezam blog article entitled “How to transfer Phone Contacts and Data from your Blackberry to your Apple iPhone or Google Android smartphone or Tablet”. Essentially enjoyin the Best of Both Worlds, that being the “in-crowd” and the “smart crowd”!
