Samsung’s
bi-Annual Unpacked 2014 is coming to one of three (3) cities near you on
Wednesday September 3rd 2014 as stated in “Samsung
will host Unpacked launch in three Cities on Sept. 3”, published August 5,
2014 5:18 PM PDT by Shara Tibken, CNET News
and “Ready
for the Galaxy Note 4? Samsung’s sets Unpacked event for September 3 (Updated)”,
published August 6, 2014 By Andy Boxall, Digitaltrends.
The
lucky cities for the simultaneous events are:
1.
Beijing, China,
2.
Berlin, Germany
3.
New York, USA
Take
a gander at the Samsung Unpacked 2014 Invitation as shown below. Artistic flair
aside, it gives some clues as to what might be on show at Samsung’s Unpacked
Event.
Clearly
the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Note III phablet
as detailed in my blog article
entitled “Samsung
Galaxy Note III is an excellent alternative to the Apple iPhone - Phablet
competition from the HTC One Max and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra signals long
lasting trend” will be the star of the show, as the graphic and the Tagline
“Ready? Note the Date!” clearly indicates.
But
there’s more to this Samsung Unpacked 2014 that hidden in the Gematria of the Samsung
Unpacked 2014 Invitation. I’ll read the Tea Leaves and spin the Dradle to
communicate with the Ascended Masters and reveal to you, dear Reader, what’s
really poppin’!
Samsung Unpacked 2014 -
Samsung Galaxy Alpha or S5 Prime with a dash of Note 4
Will
there be an update to the Samsung Galaxy S5 as detailed in my belatedly late
product review described in my blog article
entitled “Introducing
the Samsung Galaxy S5 – 16 Megapixel Camera with Fingerprint Scanner and
Fitness Tracker is Improved Fun Experience in a better Business Suit”?
Yeah,
there will be, and it’ll of course be named the Samsung Galaxy S6; Galaxy Alpha
and Galaxy S5 Prime are just codenames for what I expect will be a 64-bit
Quad-Core smartphone sporting an all Aluminium chassis with Gold Trimmings and
possibly Gorilla Glass 3.
The
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be the main headline as Samsung Unpacked
2014 Tagline “Ready? Note the Date!” clearly indicates. Will the Phablet get
any bigger? No, it cannot supersize any more; one of the prime weaknesses of a
Phablet, as any bigger and it’ll be stepping into 7” Tablet Territory. But it
can get improved functionalities such as a Case with a keyboard built in,
increased 64-bit Quad-Core Processing power, Longer Battery Life and actual
productivity software that would make it useful in the world of work.
Samsung Unpacked 2014 –
Samsung Z with Tizen OS with a dash of Samsung Galaxy Glass
Personally
though, what I’m really looking out for is the launch of the Samsung Z
smartphone, which failed to launch in Russia this week of Sunday July 6th
2014 due to Russian telecoms getting cold feet about Tizen OS as stated in my Geezam blog article entitled “Samsung
Z running Tizen OS fails to enter Russian Market hints at Caribbean and Latin
American Launch”.
I
hope Samsung hasn’t given up on the idea of their own OS, as they clearly need
to break free of Google’s parasitic hold on them. They’re already launched
their own App store, Samsung GALAXYApps,
with Apps specifically geared towards the Samsung Galaxy S series of
smartphones as I’d reported in my blog article entitled
“Samsung
Electronics Launches Samsung GALAXYApps - How Samsung’s Galaxy Just got some
new Star Apps”.
Samsung
has been awfully cagey on their success in the smartwatch arena, especially as
Apple might be gearing up to pounce on that arena with the recent hiring of Tag
Heuer Sales Executive Patrick Pruniaux in July 2014 as analyzed in my blog article
entitled “Apple
hires Tag Heuer Sales Executive - High-Profile Executive Poachings signals
iWatch with CarPlay, HomeKit, HealthKit and NFC integration”.
Instead
Samsung might spring a surprise pre-IFA Conference to pitch the Samsung Galaxy
Glass smartglasses, their answer to the Google Glass as described in my blog article
entitled “Samsung
Galaxy Glass going public in September at IFA 2014 - Google Glass way ahead
having partnered with Optometrists to offer Glass with Glasses”.
Samsung Tizen OS comes
with a surprise – Samsung Galaxy Glass to replace smartwatches
I’m
not expecting any new smartwatch refreshes as Samsung has already launched the
Samsung Galaxy Gear, the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Neo smartwatches
in February 2014, all running on Tizen OS as stated in my blog article
entitled “Samsung
launches improved Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Neo at MWC -
Launch pad for Tizen OS and the Samsung Galaxy Glass coming at IFA 2014”.
But
I’m expecting a pre-game showing of the Samsung Galaxy Glass and its ability to
synch with Samsung Galaxy smartwatches running Tizen OS. Even more interesting,
it may be synched with the Samsung Galaxy S6! If all this is true, then
combined with Samsung streaming platform Samsung Milk Music as described in my blog article
entitled “Samsung’s
Milk no longer free as it’s paid for by Commercials and sports US$4 Premium
Streaming”, this combination will make them a strong contender against
anything the Apple can dish out.
Google
knows its coming. Hence they’ve pre-launched their Google Glass product to the
public long before 2015, the year it’ll be prêt-a-porter and ready for the
public as I’d predicted in my blog article entitled
“Google
Glass launched early as a Product - Google pre-empting Samsung Galaxy Glass and
Facebook's Oculus Rift replacing the smartphone in 2015 the Year of the Sheep”.
They’re probably watching the outcome of these Samsung Unpacked 2014 Events
very closely and adjust accordingly.
Dear
Reader, what are you expecting to be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked 2014
Event?
