Apple
appears to be working on a pair of very similar devices that ironically are
related: an Apple
iWatch and an Apple
iPod and Apple
iPod Touch with Apple iCloud
Streaming aka the Apple iRadio.
How
are they related? Both of these new products are really going to be device refreshes
of products that Apple already made and
already have brand appeal.
The
Apple iWatch, of which I’d dreamed about
nearly two (2) years ago in a Geezam
blog article entitled “Prediction:
The iPod Nano Watch – Time has a New Standard” appears to
be quite real.
They apparently have a dedicated 100-man Engineering Team
working round the clock to bring the Apple iWatch to
market by the Second Quarter of 2013 as noted in “iWatch
‘beyond the experimentation phase’ – team of 100 working on Apple
device”, report says, published February 13, 2013 By Trevor Mogg, DigitalTrends and “Apple
reportedly has 100-person team working on 'iWatch'”, published February 12,
2013 6:15 PM PST by Steven Musil, CNET News.
There’s certainly a market for such a product. Smartwatches
thus far have been poor on Battery life and style. The makers resort to usually
large watches making you look more Geek than sheek. Great for hanging with you
Techie friends, but not for Black Tie Social Gatherings.
Thus it’s the main reason why I love Smartwatches or
Wristwatches with Retro stylings that are candy to a girl’s eye as opined in my
Geezam blog article entitled
“Kisai
Rogue Touch Pocket Watch – Fob Watch for Tron Steampunk Geek Gentlemen” and “Apple iPod
Nano vs Phosphor Reveal – Bling Bling, Playa”.
We
know the advantage of a Smartwatch already; an extension of your smartphone or
Tablet, making it unnecessary to back out your tech toy in the middle of dinner
every time you receive an Update, Tweet, picture or Text. It makes you look
more professional too.
The
current crop of Smartwatches are just big screens with poor battery life, the
main reason cited by detractors of Apple
doing an iWatch as noted in “Why
iWon’t buy Apple’s
rumored Smartwatch”, published February 12,
2013 by Simon Hill, DigitalTrends.
So with the lack of style and poor battery life, the MAIN
problems Apple has to conquer in order to make the Apple iWatch a hit
as noted in For
an iWatch to kick butt, Apple must
innovate in batteries, published February 19, 2013 4:00 AM PST by Josh
Lowensohn and Shara Tibken, CNET News, it’s
no surprise Apple doing an iWatch.
Like the Apple iPod Nano
upon which it may be based, it’s has higher profit margins, as you can design
it and have it manufactured and mass produced cheaply in a FoxConn factory and
sold for a premium price.
Ditto to the Apple Music
Streaming aka the Apple iRadio, long rumounred to be coming to stream content
from Apple’s iCloud Service which has also never been a definite certainty
as noted in “Apple's
proposed Web radio service is no certainty”, published October 25, 2012
1:28 PM PDT by Greg Sandoval, CNET News.
This too I’ve also dreamt up and mentioned on my blog in a
blog article
entitled “Apple
iPhone 4S is a hit and the Apple iPod may get an upgrade - Steve Jobs Opus
Major”. Apple iRadio is an upgrade of the Apple iPod as well
as the Apple iPod Touch with streaming from Apple iCloud, true
streaming, not synching scan-and-match of Media Content.
This upgrade is really a software and new hardware
upgrades to power a Music and possibly Video Streaming Service:
1. Built in dedicated Wi-Fi or 3G/4G LTE
2. Increased Memory Cache
3. Improved Battery life
4. Bluetooth Streaming headsets or earbuds, most likely made by Apple as predicted
in my Geezam
blog article entitled “Apple
patents Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds as Wireless Bluetooth Speakers take Flight”
5. Music Streaming Content provided by Beats Audio, with whom Apple’s reportedly
engaged in Talks as reported in “Cook
reportedly discussed music streaming service with Beats”, published March
5, 2013 9:39 PM PST by Steven Musil, CNET News
My hopes hinge on discoveries of the presence of Radio
buttons in the Apple iOS 6.1 upgrade as suggested in the article “Hidden
'radio' buttons discovered in Apple's
iOS 6.1”, published February 5, 2013 8:51 AM PST by Josh Lowensohn, CNET News.
So we may be looking at an Apple iRadio and a
new Apple iPod and Apple iPod Touch with Apple iCloud Streaming aka the Apple iRadio later this Second Quarter of 2013
due to ongoing negotiations with the Music Industry as noted in “Apple's
iRadio service said to be delayed into summer, or longer”, published March
7, 2013 11:50 AM PST by Josh Lowensohn, CNET News.
Ditto too the same wait time for the Apple iWatch as Apple seeks to
upgrade its Apple iPod line with better Battery Life to power the Evil Dead (2013) with Apple iCloud
Streaming. As for the actual
Apple Shuffle and Apple Nano, they too may get the stylings of
Bluetooth Streaming and Bluetooth Streaming headsets as predicted in my Geezam blog article entitled “Apple
patents Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds as Wireless Bluetooth Speakers take Flight”.
