Long run, short ketch
Anonymous
Jamaican saying, hence it is authored by yours truly, Lindsworth Deer
Christopher “Dudus” Coke has been
captured. That is the headline on the Prime Time News, aired Tuesday June
22nd 2010, Television
Jamaica.
Additionally, the State of
emergency had been extended for another month to July 22 2010, with an
expansion to the parish of St. Catherine. Early indications that these rumours
were true came were seen in an article from the Jamaican Gleaner entitled “No End
to Emergency”, published Tuesday June 22 2010 by Gary Spaulding, Senior Reporter,
The Jamaica Gleaner and the
Jamaican Observer entitled “State
of Emergency extended for one month”, published Tuesday, June 22, 2010, The Jamaica Observer.
Thus the one (1) month standoff was
ended, ironically, by negotiated interventions by Rev. Al Miller, who all this
time was negotiating directly with Christopher “Dudus” Coke as well as his
sister and his brother, who also peacefully surrendered. Like sakura blossoms in a Japanese Garden,
they fell gently into place, lulled into extradition and exile for his siblings
by gentle persuasion.
Hollywood, are you still interested
in a script from me, because this is guaranteed to be a blockbuster. Thus the
prophecy which I had predicted to a group of brain-dead Shurpower Contractors
has come to pass, ample proof of my clairvoyant abilities. For which criminal
would so willingly turn themselves in, even if they had heard my voice or seen
my image? The mystery of the Japanese movie, The Ring, is solved for
all to see. If you, dear reader, have not figured it out, please watch the
movie again in its original Japanese version.
But the title belies what really
going for, with the above merely a news flash, as at the end of the day, I am a
Technology writer, and Technology played no part in his capture. But capturing Solar
Energy is the aim of my little short sweet ditty. Apple Engineers have
mysteriously been filing patents to develop Solar powered devices, possibly
with the processor of these devices such as:
1. Apple
iPod
2. Apple
iPod Nano
3. Apple
iPod Shuffle
4. Apple
iMac
5. Apple
Mac Mini
6. Apple
TV
7. Apple
MacBook Air
8. Apple
MacBook Pro
9. Apple
iPad
They can all Solar powered,
possibly from ambient light of radiation from any part of the Electromagnetic
Spectrum via the touch screen display as stated in the article “Apple eyes gadgets
with built in Solar panels”, published January 22, 2010 7:46 AM PST by
Martin LaMonica, CNET News - Green Tech and
as further asserted in the article “Apple patent bid
combines Solar with touch screen”, published June 7, 2010 6:31 AM PDT by
Martin LaMonica, CNET News - Green Tech,
thereby in theory eliminating the battery charger from their devices altogether.
This is an impressive leap forward
by Apple, and it is hoped that the development of these Solar powered devices
will result in a virtual extension of the battery time of these devices, and
bring the convenience of self-charging Solar Technologies, long being designed
for African countries with limited access to electricity, to Developed
countries with consumers willing to pay a premium for technology that basically
would cut the tethered electrical cord, still the last relic of an analog era
that most devices have yet to free themselves.
Interestingly enough, the Nissan Leaf
as described in the article “Nissan Leaf projected
to be in the black”, published April 30, 2010 5:44 AM PDT by Reuters, CNET News - Green Tech as well as in the
article “Nissan
begin limited test-drives for Leaf EV”, published June 11, 2010 6:32 AM PDT
by Reuters, CNET News - Green Tech now with
a noisemaker to make its otherwise stealthy approach have a presence as stated
in the article “Nissan
Leaf brings the noise”, published June 11, 2010 9:51 AM PDT by Wayne
Cunningham, CNET News - The Car Tech blog,
is an all electric car, a car whose potential as a consumer product to attract
droves of followers similar to that of Apple and its product cannot be
underestimated.
Lithium-Ion Battery powered cars
are the future and will be the wave
of the future, especially in light of a skeptical American Public as it relates
to the handling of the Deep Horizon Oil
Leak, now nine (9) weeks since the explosion occurred, with billions of dollars
expended thus far by BP, who, despite their technological expertise, have
failed to plug as stated in the article “BP fails to plug oil
well with 'top kill' method”, published May 29, 2010 4:23 PM PDT, by
Reuters, CNET News - Green Tech.
President of the United States of
America, Barack Obama was talking tough as stated in the article “Obama says ready to
"kick ass" over Gulf Oil spill”, published Tuesday Jun 8, 11:25
am ET, By Anna Driver and JoAnne Allen, Yahoo
News. Even lashing out at comments made by BP CEO Tony Hayward for
describing the oil disaster and the resulting spill as being “very modest” as
stated in the article “Obama
lashes BP Chief, media over oil disaster”, published Tuesday Jun 8, 11:25
am ET by Stephen Collinson, Yahoo News and
further corroborated in the article “Obama: I
would've fired BP chief by now”, published Tuesday Jun 8, 11:27 am ET Yahoo News.
His rhetoric became threatening by
stating that he intended to have a six (6) month moratorium on Offshore Oil
Exploration as stated in the article “Obama signals tough
stance on Oil Industry”, published Tuesday Jun 8, 11:25 am ET, By Russell
Blinch and Rick Cowan, Yahoo News with
the Democrats supporting the President of the United States of America, Barack
Obama by recommending increased regulation taxation.
This should have been in place a
long time ago, as punishment for the disaster. Prevention of any future similar
disaster via higher taxes as stated in the article “Democrats
propose further taxhike on offshore oil”, published Tuesday June 8th 2010,
By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer, Yahoo
News was an early Democrat suggestion. President of the United States of
America, Barack Obama left to defend his response later on NBC as stated in the
article “Obama
defende his gulf spill response”, published Tuesday June 8, 8:13 am ET, by Yahoo News.
Action was indeed taken to have a
six (6) month moratorium placed on Offshore Oil Exploration as stated in the
article “Obama:
End dependence on fossil fuels”, published Wednesday June 2010, By JULIE
PACE, Associated Press Writer, Yahoo News.
A Supreme Court Judge later
overturned as stated in the article “Judge
blocks Gulf offshore drilling moratorium”, published Tuesday June 22, 2010
By MICHAEL KUNZELMAN, Associated Press Writer, Yahoo
News, citing lack of evidence that similar disasters would occur on
otherwise sound drilling practices with regards to Offshore Oil Exploration.
This signaled a hard fight ahead
for President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, who now has to
make a more forceful yet balanced approach (politics is weird……I thought the
President was all powerful!!) to the crisis. He, however has to take care to preserve an
otherwise lucrative Offshore Oil Exploration Industry that brings billions of
dollars of tax revenue to Government of the United States of America.
He also has to make himself appear to
be sympathetic to the plight of the people of the United States of America, specifically
the Environmentalists, who have declared this to be the worst ecological
disaster since the Exxon Valdez running aground in the 1980’s. This is Barack
Obama’s Katrina, indubitably so.
Thus we are left to worry about an
Oilspill, which is headed our way, possibly threatening the Bahamas as Prime
Minister Bruce Golding surmises in the article “Golding
rings BP spill alarm bell” published Tuesday June 22, 2010 by the CMC, The Jamaica Observer and posing a
greater danger which would require International help.
These developments in terms of Solar
powered cars inclusive of charging stations as stated in the article “Network of Web-savvy
EV-charging stations on tap”, published June 2, 2010 7:57 AM PDT by Martin
LaMonica, CNET News - Green Tech is a good
sign. Thus these All-Electric Vehicles expected to be adopted as fast as mobile
smart phones as stated in the article “Will electric cars
spread like cell phones or washing machines?”, published May 14, 2010 11:49 AM PDT by Martin LaMonica,
CNET News - Green Tech and products from
Apple.
Not to mention the unrelated story
of the Capture of “Presi” Christopher “Dudus” Coke (Hollywood, another
suggestion for my movie…..), are but glimmers of hope of a coming “Change We
Can Believe In”. President of the United States of America, Barack Obama had
promised this while on the campaign trail in 2008. The fight against Big Oil
and people with money from Unaudited Sources i.e. narcotics, has begun…………John Public
is pleased, as the Silver Surfer Arises, signaling the coming of Galactus, the
Planet Eater…………
