More reason for the IEA to declare that the next decade will be marked by significant switch to the use of Natural Gas for everything from electricity generation to powering flex-fuel motor vehicles as per the article “International Energy watchdog predicts a decade swimming in Natural Gas”, published Wednesday, November 17, 2010, The Jamaica Observer. Guess my blog article entitled “Alternative Energy and the Caribbean - Peak Oil in 2015 and the Day After Tomorrow” was spot on with regards to the IEA warning of the coming of Peak Oil in 2015!

Israel is set for the next few one hundred (100) years, no longer restricted to being an importer of energy from its Oil rich Arab neighbors but a potential exporter of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas). The gas field, called the Leviathan, is so named as the field contains sixteen trillion cubic feet (16,000,000,000,000) of almost pure methane gas.

To date, it is the biggest Natural Gas find for the decade past, dwarfing the Venezuelan super well discovered by state – run PVDSA (Petroleos de Venezuela SA) off the Venezuelan coastline as stated in the article “Venezuela taps natural gas super well”, published Tuesday March 30^th2010, AP, The Jamaica Gleaner. Even the recent possible find of Oil off the Pedro Keys discovery by Sagres Energy, the parent of Canadian firm Rainville Energy as stated in my blog article entitled “Alternative Energy and the Recent Oil Discovery in Jamaica - The Merchant of Venice”

It was discovered by a tripartite arrangement of cowboys with relatively little experience in drilling and extracting Oil and Natural Gas, namely Ratio Oil Exploration LP, Delek Group Ltd and Noble Energy Inc, the former two partners being Israeli and the latter being a Texas-based Oil explorer.

More interestingly, this spells good news for Barack Obama, President of the United States of America and his decision to halt the granting of new offshore Oil and Gas exploration permits in a definitive break away from Fossil Fuel based Oil as stated in the article as stated in the article “U.S. Halts Plan to Drill in Eastern Gulf”, published December 1, 2010 by JOHN M. Not to mention the Peak Oil in 2015 AD that is certain to cause global chaos as per my blog article entitled “Alternative Energy and the President - Three Days of the Condor”– which it seems everyone is quietly keeping under wraps and slowly going Alternative and LNG.

Americans going All-Electric Vehicles as stated on Administrator Kirk’s Geezam blog entitled “The American Race Towards Alternative Energy ”and transitioning towards Natural Gas all nicely summarized in my blog article entitled “Apple iPad and the house of Representatives - Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”.

Thus the two (2) news stories at the beginning of my article gives the Obama Administration’s draconian moves a little more credence and possibly may win support for their decision to tap into America’s Shale Gas (American colloquial for Natural Gas) Reserves. This is even as legal problems make it difficult to tap into the gas.

Let’s hope that Barack Obama, President of the United States of America eventually gets the House of Representatives under Control, as further legislation as it relates to the rapid conversion and construction of new Electric Power Plants and mandates for Flex-fuel Vehicles that utilize Natural Gas.

This is because such legislative changes will usher in what is in effect the beginning of the Hydrogen-Electron Economy that will gradually decouple the US of A from Oil and make electricity cheap enough for their exports to be competitive against the People’s Republic of China as per my blog article entitled “Alternative energy and Volvo - Tomorrow Never Dies for the Hydrogen-Electron Economy” and the article “Whither the Hydrogen Economy”. 2011 is slowly shaping up not only to be the Year of the All-Electric Vehicle, but also the Neon-Genesis of the Hydrogen Economy…….
