CBSN Streaming News Portal Internationals - First Digital Streaming News Channel sponsored by Advertisers on your Browser

“There’s a tremendous opportunity on these platforms for a true round-the-clock newscast. We’re confident this service will appeal to both traditional news consumers and a whole new set of viewers”

CBS CEO Les Moonves commenting on November 6th, 2014 during the launch of CBSN, their 24-hour Streaming News Portal available on its Website and via its CBS Apps

Its official folks!

CBS has now stepped into the 21st Century by fully embracing Streaming and the power of Global Internet Traffic to power the first true 24-hour Streaming News Portal site with Advertising Revenue.

CBS has upped the ante on Thursday November 6th 2014 with a 24-hour Streaming News Portal on its Website and via its CBS Apps called CBSN as reported in the article “CBS just launched a 24-hour streaming news channel”, published November 6, 2014 10:14 am by Jacob Kastrenakes, The Verge.

It's up, fresh as a daisy from 9am to midnight Eastern every weekday, making CBSN technically the First Digital Streaming News Channel on the face of the Planet Earth.

CBSN Streaming News Portal - More CBS More Often sponsored by Advertisers

CBS has already rolled out CBS All Access in US of A costing only US$5.99 per month exclusively for Americans as announced on Thursday October 16th 2014 as detailed in my blog article entitled “US$5.99 CBS All Access Live in US of A - How HBO Streaming by 2015 will beat Netflix as Jamaican Local TV and Radio Stations unprepared for Digicel and LIME TV”.

CBS seems to have suddenly realized that the rest of the World would also like to share in watching CBS News, much as many Jamaicans already stream Television Jamaica as well as CVM TV via their Web Portals.

In so doing, on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, they’ve basically torn down another wall between themselves and the rest of the World as opined in the article “CBS Leaps Into Streaming News: Tearing Down Another Wall?”, published Howard Homonoff on 11/11/2014  9:56AM, Forbes.

CBSN is very similar in concept to RJR Communications Group planned TVJ Everywhere Streaming Platform as explained in my blog article entitled “RJR Communications Group Launching TVJ Everywhere - How Streaming TVJ Everywhere will boost Advertising Revenue as Digicel and LIME TV coming”, which should have launched in October 2014 bus probably has been postponed due to a lack of local content to fill up a 24 hour timeslot!

CBSN for Internationals - Roku and Amazon Fire TV new channel, Browser users Bookmark

It's also a smart move to make it free to stream from the rest of the World, as the portal mainly makes revenue from American and International Commercials, as the traffic to the Streaming website Portal must be phenomenal.

However, unlike out local Web streaming Portals, CBSN is on 24 hours a day, not certain times of the day like Television Jamaica or CVM TV. Also, it's NOT American programming form CBS but rather a potpourri of CBS Sports News and their local TV affiliates scattered across the Continental US of A. You still get breaking News reports on ANY major event that's going down in the USA as well as internationally, making this a website that many will wanna bookmark!

Best of all for something that really an ad-sponsored freebie for Internationals, it has advanced program skip options that allow you to skip old content, almost like a cloud-based DVR (Digital Video Recorder).

It's also gonna be poppin' up on your Roku and the Amazon Fire TV as an additional Channel, which has recently sprouted a little sibling, the Amazon Fire Stick as reported in “Amazon takes on Chromecast with new $39 Fire TV Stick”, published October 27, 2014 09:18 am  By Jacob Kastrenakes, The Verge.

Want to try it out now?

It's available on the CBS Android, Google Chrome and Windows 8 App, with updates coming for Apple users. International like myself living in Jamaica can finally watch CBS News without having to use a VPN or a Proxy as explained in my blog article entitled “Surfing the Internet Anonymously using VPN - How to use Streaming Set Top Boxes over VPN”.

However, I’d recommend as CBS rolls out yet another Streaming Service, they need to consolidate all those other Web Apps and Apps on the Google Play Store and the Apple iTunes App Store into CBS All Access and CBSN Web Portal.
