@Snapchat Best Friends is Friend Emojis - How @Beyonce’s explains why @KimKardashian Needs Love as Moon says More Light

Hello snapchatters, I’ve got a new Mission for you.

Snapchat has some new updates for Discovery feature in Snapchat that are the talk of the town right now.

It's actually Friend Emojis and Camera assistance when taking pictures under low-lighting conditions as noted in the article “Snapchat update introduces new Emoji system and camera enhancements”, published April 7, 2015 by AJ Dellinger, Digitaltrends  and “Snapchat adds Emoji to show you who your best friends are”, published April 6, 2015 07:33 pm By Rich McCormick, the Verge.

Please, before you go any further, watch this informative video below courtesy of Techcrunch.

Ok, now that you’ve read that, continue reading.

This new features is aside from being able to send money which was rolled out back in November 2014 as noted in my blog article entitled “@Snapchat rolls out Snapcash - Teenagers and Millennials Mobile Money Catalyst for Digicel Jamaica's Mobile Money Platform going Global”, which I think is pretty cool.

So what is Snapchat Friend Emojis exactly?

Snapchat Friend Emojis – Snapchat remove uncomfortable Best Friends List that stalked your BFF

The new Friend Emojis are not for the IM (Instant Messaging) feature of this app that's famous for sending self-destructing photos and videos.

Rather they appear beside the avatar of your BFF’s in Contracts and when you receive a message and can be seen ONLY by you. They are intended to replace the Best Friends feature that got killed off in January 2015 due to complaints about privacy as noted in the article “Snapchat removes best friends feature, users react”, published 28 January 2015, BBC News.

Snapchat
's Best friends feature is an automatically generated list of the top three (3) persons that any of their contacts in their list interact with. The more you interacted with someone, the higher up in that persons list you went, and was not something you could control.

It also gave teenagers an insight into who like who the most in a VERY OBVIUOUS way. It might have also been potentially the source of jealousy among some Snapchatters, especially if another girl is chatting up your BFF (Best Friend) or boyfriend as noted in my blog article entitled “@Snapchat now racks up 350 million shares of self-deleting snaps per day - Milennial Girl’s Litmus Test for Friends and future boyfriends”.

So most of us were glad that Snapchat decide to remove their Best Friends List, which was menace to Teenage Society. But rather than banish it Never Land, they've replaced it with yet another system, keeping to their promise as noted in “Relax! Snapchat 'Best Friends' Will Return (Eventually)”, published JANUARY 29, 2015 BY ANGELA MOSCARITOLO, PC Magazine,

Instead, the Best Friends list has been replaced by Best Friends Emojis!

Snapchat replaces Best Friends list with Friend Emojis - How Snapchat helps you to know your friends and Who Needs Love

Snapchat, by adding these six (6) Friend Emojis, has turned this self-destruct messaging App into a huge Game.

Why do I get the impression that Snapchat is “messing” with Teenagers insecurities about who likes whom in order to get them to send more naked photos…er…I mean more-than-revealing photographs of themselves?

With the new Friends Emoji system, instead of a list of the Best Friends that your BFF’s in your contact list have, you'll instead get a set of six (6) Friend Emoji that indicates how close you are to your assumed BFF’s as noted in the article “Snapchat Replaces “Best Friends” With Friend Emojis, Adds Low-Light Camera”, published 06.04.2015 by Josh Constine, Techcrunch.

These six (6) Friend Emojis will appear on incoming snaps sent to you by your BFF’s in your contacts list as well as beside the avatar of your BFF’s as noted in the article “Snapchat friends: The new Emoji update explained”, published 7 April 2015, BBC News.

They indicate the degree of closeness you have with your supposed BFF’s is explained by the Friend Emojis as listed below:

1.      Gold Heart - You're top friends: The person you send snaps to most sends snaps to you the most too.
2.      Gritted Teeth - You have a mutual best friend: The person you send snaps to most is also who this person sends snaps to the most.
3.      Smile - One of your best friends: This is one of the people you send snaps to the most.
4.      Sunglasses - You have a mutual best friend: One of the people you send snaps to most is also one of the people this person sends snaps to most.
5.      Smirk - You're their best friend, but they aren't yours: You're one of the people they send snaps to the most, but they're not one of the people you send snaps to most.
6.      Fire - You're on a snapstreak: You and this person have sent snaps back and forth for the number of consecutive days shown.

Beyonce’s explains Friend Emojis – Kim Kardashian Needs Love as Moon says more light

Most amusingly, the official press Release which appeared as a brief Friend Emojis instruction manual in the Snap Channel of its app’s Discover section also included some pictures of Beyonce to explain this much anticipated feature. I'll leave you be the judge of what these pictures are implying about what Beyonce thinks of Kim Kardashian.

Possibly Kim Kardashian might appear in Beyonce's Need Love section, the other feature that came with this update, that tell you who you may not have send any snaps to of late.

This feature also comes with a new Moon icon that pops up whenever you're taking a picture using Snapchat's Camera, warning you of low lighting conditions.

So are these updates worth it? Snapchatters may be a little more take with the amusing pictures of Beyonce and her BFF to mind much.

As usual, BFF’s, this message will self Destruct in five seconds….
