The
JA$4,999 Huawei Ascend Y330 smartphone was previously on sale from Wednesday
May 28th 2014 to Friday May 30th 2014 as show in the
advertisement below.
However,
based on a good source from within a Call Center, this iconic smartphone will
be going on sale once more in a Game of Phones. This sale is slated to start on
Tuesday July 1st 2014, the Official Start of Summer 2014 as
predicted in my blog
article entitled “LIME
JA$4999 Huawei Y330 and Digicel's JA$100 2 Day Data Plans - Voice and Data
Summer War as CET Removal coming on July 1st 2014”.
If
you’ve glossed over that article, you’d have seen the two (2) adverts. If
you’ve read my blog
article on the Telecom Provider Digicel’s
DL700 aka Alcatel
One Touch Pop C3 entitled “Digicel
has launched the DL700, an upgrade to the DL600 on Friday December 6th 2013 -
The Alcatel One Touch Pop C3 is Digicel’s latest Unicorn that may be harder to
catch”, you’d have seen the specs for their offering, which weighs in at
JA$8,760 Prepaid and JA$10,950 Postpaid.
So
what are the specs of Telecom Provider LIME’s
JA$4999 Huawei Ascend Y330? I recently took one out for a spin here in Milk
River Clarendon and albeit it’s clearly plastic, it’s got some features, based
on comments by Milk River peeps, that make it stand out.
Huawei Ascend Y330 vs
Digicel DL600 – Charging not a Problem cause the Battery Tun Up
First
I’ll put up a table comparing the Specs of Telecom Provider LIME’s JA$4999 Huawei Ascend Y330 to
Telecom Provider Digicel’s DL700
aka Alcatel
One Touch Pop C3 as gleaned from GSM Arena.
Huawei Ascend Y330 vs
DL700 aka Alcatel One Touch Pop C3 – Heralds for another Budget Smartphone
Clearly
both these smartphones are equally matched. In fact, they’re basically offering
the same level of performance. The main difference is price, the main point
that was expressed in my blog article
entitled “JA$4999
Huawei Ascend Y330 vs JA$7599 Digicel DL700 Game of Phones - Tablets to drop on
Emancipation and Independence Day in a Game of Phones”.
As
for that standout feature that Milk River peeps, a rough and tumble, football
and Domino loving set love about the Huawei Ascend Y330? It doesn’t overheat
like the DL700, which also freezes often and has to restarted whenever this
happens. Albeit both are basically running Google Android Jellybean, Huawei’s
integration of the OS with their hardware is better, never mind the smaller
Camera.
Who
will win the War for the Iron Throne come Tuesday July 1st 2014 in
this Game of Phones? Will it be the Telecom Provider Digicel’s DL700 aka Alcatel
One Touch Pop C3 or the Telecom Provider LIME’s
JA$4999 Huawei Ascend Y330? Or will Digicel roll out a new Budget smartphone to
compete, possibly a version of their Branded smartphone, the DL800?
And
will Tablet prices Tumble too as I’ve predicted in my blog article
entitled “Council
of Trade and Economic Development allows GOJ to remove CET on smartphones - How
CET removal from Phablets is the Perfect Storm for CET-Free Tablets by
Emancipation Day”?
