Vitamin C and the Chikungunya Virus - How to increase your Vitamin C Intake, Glutathione and Interferon by White Blood Cells

In my blog article entitled “Jamaican Chikungunya Outbreak possible – Why H1N1 Outbreak in Jamaica possible as 1,731 die in India from H1N1 Outbreak”, I'd mentioned the fact that many Jamaican are still yet to be infected by the Chikungunya Virus.

We're also still susceptible to other infections, like Swine flu or H1N1, a strain of the Influenza Virus thanks to the fact that man Jamaican STILL do not eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables that contain Vitamin C (C6H8O6) as noted in the article “Vitamin C Kills Viruses”, published Tuesday October 21, 2014 by Dr Tony Vendryes, The Jamaica Gleaner.

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) is not only effective against the Chikungunya Virus; in high enough concentrations, it has been shown to have activity against the following Viral and Bacterial diseases:

1.      Bird flu (H2N2)
2.      Chikungunya Virus
3.      Ebola Virus
4.      Herpes
5.      HIV
6.      Influenza (H1N1)
7.      Marburg
8.      Polio
9.      Small pox
10.  West Nile

So says the book Vitamin C (C6H8O6), “Infectious Diseases and Toxins: Curing the Incurable” by Dr Thomas Levy. So what exactly is Vitamin C (C6H8O6)? Does a lack of Vitamin C (C6H8O6) cause any problems in the body?

Vitamin C and the Chikungunya Virus - Activity against Virus at the nanoscopic level

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) is also called ascorbic acid and is a natural compound produced by most animals, including dogs, when infected due to cuts or disease.

Thus, Vitamin C (C6H8O6) deficiency is humans, bats and guinea pigs is very common  as we do not naturally produce Vitamin C (C6H8O6) with the condition is called Scurvy.

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) was actually discovered by Dr Albert Szent-Gyorgyi  in 1929 in Hungary from the adrenals glands of animals as well as vegetables such as paprika (Capsicum annuum).

This substance proved to be a Reducing agent, which is we now know as ascorbic acid. Interesting coincidence as most acids ARE reducing agents i.e. they lose electrons during a chemical reaction, thereby becoming oxidized and more stable in terms of their electron configuration and energy levels.

Not sure what he'd bumped into, he just called it “ignose”. Subsequent research resulted in him being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1937.

So how does Vitamin C (C6H8O6) help in the fight against Chikungunya Virus and other viral diseases?

Vitamin C and Chikungunya – Glutathione and Interferon by White Blood Cells

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) works directly and indirectly against viral infections.

Directly, the molecules of Vitamin C (C6H8O6) react with the outer protein shell that constitute most viruses, reducing them via reaction and thus cause them to break apart, once the dosage of Vitamin C (C6H8O6) is sufficiently high.

Because of the viral nature of many illnesses from the common cold to Influenza, Vitamin C (C6H8O6) can reduce the symptoms associated with Viruses due to this direct attack of the Viruses at the Nanoscopic level:

1.      Fever
2.      Pain
3.      Rash
4.      Swelling
5.      Weakness

This is the same kind of activity against viruses that Melletin has against the HIV (High Immuno-Deficiency Virus) based on the research of Dr. Joshua L. Hood, MD, PhD, Researcher at the Washington University School of Medicine as stated in my blog article entitled “Washington University School of Medicine Researchers use Liposomes and Melittin to kill HIV - Olympus has Fallen and given us a Panacea for every disease on planet Earth”.

This is also true about extracts from the Lignum Vitae, the National Flower of Jamaica as discovered by Dr. Henry Lowe and his BTRDI (Bio-Tech R&D Institute) Team as noted in my blog article entitled How Dr. Lowe Lignum Vitae Extract is the Equivalent of Melittin in Bee Venom for AIDS Treatment”.

Ditto too for Guinea Hen Weed (Petiveria Alliacea) and its activity against the HIV Virus, also discovered by Dr. Henry Lowe and his BTRDI (Bio-Tech R&D Institute) Team as noted in my blog article entitled “Dr. Henry Lowe and BTRDI Team discover Guinea Hen Weed active against HIV - Chikungunya Virus Treatment potential as Dr Lawrence Williams Cancer Cure also kills HIV”.

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) may also have potentially have activity against the HIV Virus, based on the work of Dr. Linus Pauling in his book Vitamin C and the Common Cold.

This as the White Blood Cells in the body's Immune System, and specifically the T-Cells, use up Vitamin C (C6H8O6) in large amounts during a viral infection to produce an antioxidant called Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S).

This anti-oxidant (literally meaning reducing agent!) is used directly in the fight against viruses.

What Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) does is reduce the formation of disulfide within cytoplasmic proteins by acting as a reducing agent and donating electrons to those elements attacking the cellular walls of the body's tissues, oxidizing them to a more stable form. In the process, Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) is oxidized to glutathione disulfide (GSSG).

This however, is a temporary state; Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) can be reduced back by glutathione reductase, using NADPH as an electron donor. In this sense, the Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) can be seen as a reducing catalyst and because not all Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) is reduced during an infection or a toxic shock episode, the ratio of reduced Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) to oxidized Glutathione (C10H17N3O6S) is a measure of cellular toxicity.

Finally, Vitamin C (C6H8O6) helps the body to produce other anti-viral compounds that attack viruses such as interferon, with interferes with the reproductive processes of viruses within cells.

How to increase your Vitamin C Intake - Drink More Bag Juice and Drinks Mix

Vitamin C (C6H8O6) aka Ascorbic Acid eaten from fruits does not provide enough Vitamin C (C6H8O6) to fight infections or just to avoid a Vitamin C (C6H8O6) deficiency called Scurvy.

The fact that Dr. James Lind, the British naval surgeon, was able to save many British Navy officers from death via the introduction of fruits does not mean you can get your full Vitamin C (C6H8O6) requirements from fruits alone.

The reason why the British Navy delayed from almost forty (40) years to include Fruits was because many in their Naval Command thought that giving fruits to sailors would not make them hardened enough for battle.

Many in the British Navy were conscripted officers and POW (Prisoners of War) or boys coming from poor homes. With Fruits being seen as a luxury item, it seemed to the British Navy Top Brass a breach of class values and attitudes of Britain at the time, not to mention a waste of Cargo space that could otherwise store ammunition and weapons.

But as with then and now, thinking has to change on the use of Vitamin C (C6H8O6).

Delaying action for some forty (40) years resulted in the death of some 100,000 British Naval officers, many of whom could have been saved had the British Navy acted more quickly on the advice of Dr. James Lind.

So a diet in raw Fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin C (C6H8O6), is merely a start.

You also have to drink juices rich in Vitamin C (C6H8O6) and that can include Fruit Juices and even Bag juice and Vitamin C (C6H8O6) rich Drinks mixes, which is where most of my Vitamin C (C6H8O6) comes from as noted in my blog article entitled “Cooking Restart at MICO - How to Cook a Meal in under 30 minutes and make Drinks with Bag Juice”.

Taking Vitamin C (C6H8O6) supplements is also recommended when fighting the Chikungunya Virus, if you have deep pockets and can shell out the money needed to buy a large bottle of Vitamin C (C6H8O6) for your family. This as one of the treatments that many Jamaican will get at the hospital involves the use of intravenous Vitamin C (C6H8O6).

So if you had been preciously infected by the Chikungunya Virus or you’re currently suffering from its effects of you're experiencing a bout of influenza, stocking up on Vitamin C (C6H8O6) is not a bad idea.
