How to receive Payments online and spend it here in Jamaica - If it doesn't make spendable cash it doesn't make sense to Work online or do E-Commerce

I’ve started spreading the Good News like a true Evangelist on how Jamaicans can legally make money online based on research published in my blog article entitled “How to make US Dollars as Freelance Web Content or Blog Affiliate Writer Online in Jamaica using your Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit Card” and more legitimately (and importantly!) as explained in my blog article entitled “How Jamaicans can Legally make US Dollars as Freelance worker Online - Jamaican Flexworking to make money from the Internet”.

As part of my evangelism, I’m rather direct in explaining to first-timers that, as in life, on the Internet there are really only two ways to make money:

1.      Selling something online via your own website i.e. e-commerce. This involves packaging and exporting goods via a courier
2.      Working for someone online i.e. as explained in my blog article above

The first one is always a bit daunting and involves a lot of people skills with the exception of Photography, which is rather simple, as the photographs really sell themselves as described in my blog article entitled How Jamaicans can make money from Stock Photography – Moneymaking from taking photos of the everyday Mundane”.

Also selling your own e-books online, both legally as stated in my blog article entitled “Crowdsourced, Teleworking Flex-work Publishers needed for UWI and High School Students with Tablets in 2014 - How Jamaican Writers can make money via ePub Publishing Booksand otherwise as explained in my blog article entitled “How to become an e-book Publishing House via e-book Piracy - Tablets in Schools sets the Stage for Rampant e-book Piracy”.

So I’ve avoided that in favour of teaching people about Work available online, mainly as a writer or Blogger. The main Legitimate Resources online are extensive and isn’t worth listing here at this time. But the ones I use is an aggregator of legitimate online Work which I’ve condensed into a single blog article entitled “How Jamaicans can Legally make US Dollars as Freelance worker Online - Jamaican Flexworking to make money from the Internet”.

Read it and be enlightened!

I’ve achieved this minor miracle via posting advertisement in the Sunday Gleaner Classifieds, the most regularly read section of the Jamaica Gleaner, often times leaving an email address, phone number (not really a good idea but what the heck) and a hyperlink to my article above for the more intelligent to read and understand what I’m trying to explain: you can work and make money online!

I’ve then contacted many potential Writers via email with the basic criteria needed to receive money from working online, that being the need to subscribed to a reliable Payment Gateway as explained in my blog article entitled “How Jamaicans can set up a Payment Gateway in order to process Credit Card purchases - E-Commerce the main Catalyst for Increasing Jamaica's Internet Penetration”:

1.      Paypal account, a Payment Gateway
2.      Payoneer Account, an International US Bank MasterCard Prepaid Debit Card
4.      Broadband Internet at home, be it FLOW, Digicel or LIME

This effort on my part is based on my theory that the best way to get Jamaicans interested in Broadband Internet is to show them how to make money from the Internet as argued in my blog article entitledJamaica's 700MHz Spectrum Auction fails to attract bidders on Friday October 11 2013 - Jamaicans Lack interest in Broadband Internet and no Telecom Regulator for the Sector”, the other activity Jamaicans like doing aside from Facebook and Social Media and downloading Movies.

Too many Jamaicans are unbanked – Many Respondents simply have no Bank Accounts

Unfortunately I’ve hit a snag it seems. First, there’s the fact that many Jamaicans simply don’t have a bank account, let alone a bank account with a VISA Debit Card. The Access to Credit Cards is even worse, as the sentiment among local Jamaicans is that Credit Cards are bad, based on news out of North America about Americans being scammed, Credit Cards Cloned and all their cash stolen or oweing millions on their Credit Card Bill!

The statistics from the Mona School of Business, recently quoted by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Science, Technology Energy and Mining Julian Robinson as stated in my blog article entitled “BOJ stalling on Mobile Money Regulations as new entrants appear - Herald for the Cashless Society as Smartphones and Mobile Money are The Perfect Storm and Curse of Chucky” tell a more precise tale of the unbanked:

2.      66% of Jamaicans above 18 years own Bank accounts
3.      12% of Jamaicans above 18 years who own Bank accounts have Debit Cards attached and use them actively for Transactions
4.      80% adult Jamaicans have limited access to low-cost, efficient and user-friendly Banking Services

So folks calling me about the writing opportunity online, please put out the effort and get yourself a Scotia VISA Debit Card as described in my Geezam blog article entitled “ScotiaBank’s VISA Debit Card – Jamaica’s Online E-Commerce Renaissance” and “How to use Scotia VISA Debit Card Online” or a CIBC First Caribbean VISA Debit Card. It’s well worth the effort!

Rewards of Working online and E-commerce are great – Long term Commitment not Get-Rich-Quick

Thus this lack of access to Prepaid VISA Debit Cards stands as the main impediment to partaking in Working online or even E-commerce, which can make as much as US$200,000 per annum as was the case with blogger David Risley aka the six Figure Blogger as stated in the article “David Risley Interview – Tech Blogger Earning 6 Figures A Year” viewed by lindsworth deer on 17th December 2013 by Michael Dunlop, Income Diary and “Podcast: David Risley Reveals How He Made $141,000 Online In 2008”, published January 23, 2009 9:37 am Published by Yaro Starak, Entrepreneurs Journey.

Check out David Risley’s YouTube Page as I take most of my advise on marketing my blog from his YouTube channel. I’ve even recommended his website The Blog Marketing Academy for my many readers to inspire them to do their own e-commerce website or blog!

Also, Jamaican need to get the get-rich-quick mentality out of their heads; it doesn’t happen overnight and you have to stick to it – like any business as there are various ways Jamaicans can make money online as explained in “7 Simple Ways to Make Money Online”, Posted on 06/23/2012 by Tony Thomas, The Jamaican Entrepeneur.

The advantages of working online as well as E-commerce is the fact that you work from Home and you’re your own boss as explained in my blog article entitled “Crowdsourced, Teleworking Flex-work Publishers needed for UWI and High School Students with Tablets in 2014 - How Jamaican Writers can make money via ePub Publishing Books”.
