I’ve been getting lots of
comments about my blog article entitled “Crowdsourced, Teleworking Flex-work Publishers needed
for UWI and High School Students with Tablets in 2014 - How Jamaican Writers
can make money via ePub Publishing Books” as it relates to making money from the Internet,
particularly writing.
It seems there’s been a
flurry of interest in making money from the Internet ever since “Digital
Jamaica 2.0”, the event staged from June 28th to 30 2012th
at the Jamaica Conference Centre as reported in the article “Make Money From The Internet”, published Sunday June 24, 2012, The
Jamaica Gleaner.
Apparently some idle
individuals perusing my blog have commented that my article took a strange
turn. Instead of listing websites one could go to get work online gigs, I decided
to show my readers how to become writer and self-publish in my blog article entitled “Crowdsourced, Teleworking Flex-work Publishers needed
for UWI and High School Students with Tablets in 2014 - How Jamaican Writers
can make money via ePub Publishing Books” .
In my follow-up blog article entitled “How to become an e-book Publishing House via e-book
Piracy - Tablets in Schools sets the Stage for Rampant e-book Piracy”, I even went further and showed my readers how to go
from e-book pirate (a phenomenon sure to come to Jamaica as Tablets) to the
point of becoming a Publisher of original works for other people and thereby
making money as a e-book Publisher of original content!
My Brain took a detour – Work Online isn’t so easy to Google
But back to the working
online! Yes, that’s missing for the original article, I’ll admit straight up!
Apparently my pen took over
my brain and with a mind of its own wrote something other than I’d intended! I did actually do an article on how one
could actually make money from being
a Writer for a blog or a website online entitled “How to make US Dollars as Freelance Web Content or
Blog Affiliate Writer Online in Jamaica using your Scotia VISA Debit Card or Credit”
Card, but it does
require a bit from the individual.
This as the reader or
aspiring writer would have to set up US Mailing address via registering with
one of Jamaica’s local online shopping portals as detailed in the blog article entitled “How to purchase items and subscribe to Magazines
online and ship them to Jamaica” among other things. This is kinda illegal and may not work out well if
you get caught; all that time invested in setting up a proxy Account and
deceiving the Americans that you’re in the US of a when in fact you’re Jamaica
may be tantamount to scamming!
Plus in terms of Labour Laws
in Jamaica you may not be covered, as many of the online jobs, which are online
are not covered by our Labour Law legislation, which Minister of Labour David
Kellier seems to be taking forever to update as opined in my blog article entitled “How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - Church
opposed to Modernizing Jamaica via Flexi-Work and 4G LTE to introduce
Tele-commuting is really Much Ado About Nothing”
Real Jobs online – Free Alternatives to Freelancer and
MobileWorks
So as to get around this
legal foible, I’ve done some deeper digging and unearthed some rare gems in the
form of actual websites that allow you to work from Jamaica and get paid in you
own Bank Account! You can tell these jobs are for Jamaicans as they usually
request Jamaican nationals and they often have payment options that may involve
either a Wire Transfer of money to your Bank Account or Direct Deposit via a
local company.
No Paypal or other payment
Gateway necessary in some cases! Just straight Bank Account! I’ve condensed
them from the Internet and listed them below into several Categories with their
associated weblink. Please note, they are far and few and in-between as I had
to sift through a lot of information online to distill it down to these clutch
of websites as well as check a reference site “5
Ways to Make Money Online From Home”, published Nov. 10, 2012By Constance

Paid Online writing Jobs are
also a delight. I’ve found three (3) that accept Jamaicans below and my favourites

The situation is the same as
with the Freelancer
and the MobileWorks
Websites I had described in my original blog
article entitled “Data
Outsourcing comes to Jamaica via MobileWorks and Freelancer.com - Flexi-Work

except that you don’t have to prepay in most cases to begin working. You just
work and get paid and it’s open to Jamaicans. Have fun making loads of
spendable cash online in your spare time from what’s effectively flex working!
