Kavli Institute of Nanoscience demonstrates Super-cooled Diamonds faster-than-light Quantum Teleportation

“There is a big race going on between five or six groups to prove Einstein wrong. There is one very big fish.”

Dr. Ronald Hanson, a physicist leading the research at Kavli Institute of Nanoscience, part of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, speaking of their demonstration of Quantum Teleportation

Well, it looks like Albert Einstein may have been proven wrong on the instance of the speed of light and the ability for information, at least, to travel faster than the speed of Light! To say I have a fascination with the idea of Quantum Entanglement of Quantum Teleportation may be the understatement of the year.

So it’s with more than fascination that I announce the successful demonstration of Quantum Teleportation by a team of physicists led by Dr. Ronald Hanson at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience, part of the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands as stated in “Scientists achieve reliable quantum Teleportation for the first time”, published May 29, 2014 3:56 PM PDT by Nick Statt, CNET News.

Their work, which was published in the Journal of Science, indicates that they managed to send the Quantum Mechanical State of one Electron to another Electron about 10 feet away, a distance that they say can be increased to as much as a kilometer. Best of all, their results can be replicated by other universities and the other groups of University Physicists that are aiming to demonstrate that Quantum Entanglement is very much possible.

Quantum Entanglement – Super-cooled Diamonds are a Physicists best friend

The Research team experimented with Electrons in Diamonds Atoms, which are made of Carbon (C) whose Quantum Mechanical States was first observed and then deliberately manipulated. To do this, the Diamond, a macromolecule of made of Tetrahedral Carbon Atoms, were dropped to temperatures close to absolute zero in a Vacuum chamber that sealed them from all forms of Vibration and Electromagnetic Radiation that would cause their Quantum State to change.

These values of the Quantum Mechanical States, called a quibit, are unique to each Electron orbiting each Carbon (C) in the Diamond Lattice according to Pauli’s Exclusion Principle. They are a combination of the following Quantum Numbers and are as unique as a Serial number on a product:

1.      Principal Quantum Number, denoted as n
2.      Orbital Quantum Number, denoted as l
3.      Magnetic Quantum Number denoted as ml
4.      Spin Quantum Number denoted as ms

The Quantum Numbers are related to each other via Equations based on the work of Neil Bohr and later refined by Quantum Theory. Electrons can be seen as negatively charged particles located within shells. Because their current position is unknown until observed, the act of which affect their future position as per the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, the equations used give rise to these unique Quantum Numbers to describe each Electron based on its unique Quantum Mechanical State.

To that end, the various Quantum Numbers can be derived as thus:

1.      The Principal Quantum Number, n, can be an integer from 1 to infinity i.e. 1 to ∞
2.      Orbital Quantum Number, denoted l, is also an integer value and can only take values from 0 to (n-1)
3.      Magnetic Quantum Number, denoted as ml , can take integer values from +l to –l
4.      Spin Quantum Number, ms can only take values of +1/2 to -1/2

Note: Strictly speaking, this doesn’t represent Electron spin as they’re not really spherical charged particles. It’ just a naming that was mistakenly assigned to Electrons based on observed Spectral lines that were explained by giving Electrons the property of spin, with +1/2 denoting up spin and  -1/2 denoting downspin.

So in the case of Carbon, the Quantum Numbers are often represented using a shortened notation that is composed of the Principal Quantum Number and the Orbital Quantum Number. Each Principal Quantum Number  or Shell Number as they are called, is denoted by a number and each Orbital Quantum Number is denoted with a letter; s, p, d, f. Thus Carbon (C) in the Diamond Lattice would be represented thus: 1s2 2s2 2p2

To work out the total number of Quantum States, use the value of the Magnetic Quantum Number, ml in the following equation:

4l+2

Thus in the case of Carbon (C) in the Diamond Lattice:

n=2
l = 1, 0

Thus the total Quantum States for each value of l can be calculated and summed up as thus:

 [4(1) +2] + [4(0) +2]
6 + 2 = 8

Diamond was chosen as all the Electrons are involved in four separate Covalent Single Bonds, also called Sigma Bonds. Thus, they could be seen as being fixed in terms of their relationship to each Carbon (C) Atom, only moving between Atoms involved in each Bond but not fully Mobile i.e. unable to hold an e.m.f. At that temperature under such conditions, this would represent the Vacuum Conditions that exists in Space.

At that point, all the Carbon (C) Atoms and the Electrons in those Covalent Single Bonds would be in the same Quantum Mechanical State but not the same Quantum Number for each Electron as per Pauli Exclusion Principle. At this point, the initial Quantum Mechanical States based on the conditions that the Carbon (C) Atoms are subjected to are known by theory. This as direct observation would result in the Teams results falling into the trap of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

That's the easy stuff; the real hard part is to transmit this Quantum Information, called a Quibit, which is usually expressed as a series of unique integer values unique to every Electron in the Diamond Lattice Structure to another sample of Diamonds that have also been subjected to the very same conditions.

In effect, the physicists are trying to transmit the Quibits of Data so as to make the two samples of Diamond, separated by a distance of 3 m and then 10 m, have the same Quantum Mechanical State for every Carbon (C) Atom. I used to know this phenomenon as super-symmetry, but apparently the scientists have figured out a way to make this “spooky action at a distance”, that Albert Einstein used to characterize Quantum Theory concept of super-symmetry, work.

So since the two samples are separated by a distance of 3m and then 10 m and are connected in no way, as they’re isolated in Vacuum sealed chambers at temperatures close to that of Absolute zero, how did the Quantum Entanglement occur?

Lasers and FSO – Quantum Teleportation potential for Computing and Telecommunications

To be honest, I’m not even sure this is a legitimate discovery.

This is somewhat similar to a previous discovery made by a team of European and Canadian scientists as explained in “Scientists teleport info 90 miles across islands”, published August 15, 2012 10:00 AM PDT by Tim Hornyak, CNET News. That experiment involved Quantum Teleportation of the Quantum Mechanical States of Atoms in a sample over a distance of 90 miles between the islands of La Palma and Tenerife.

Albeit the two samples of Atoms were made to have the same Quantum Mechanical States, this was more of a demonstration of a FSO (Free Space Optical) Telecommunications to carry the information related to the Quibits of the Electrons in the sample using a Laser Beam more than anything else as stated in my blog article entitled “Scientists demonstrate Quantum Teleportation over 90 miles on Canary Islands - Telecom Providers become Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy as FLORA Networks are feasable”.

Such a method means that the information still occurs at the speed of light, suggesting that there would indeed be a delay. That delay in the Teleportation of information is caused by the transmitting and receiving stations on each island having to take time to decode the information and then apply it to the other sample of Atoms.

Thus in the strictest sense of the word, that previous experiment over 90 miles wasn’t true Quantum Entanglement, but merely a demonstration of the transmission of Quantum Data reliably over a FSO (Free Space Optical) Telecommunications link.

So the team of physicists led by Dr. Ronald Hanson may be doing the same thing, only over a shorter distance. Technically speaking, if they can demonstrate it at longer distances, say a kilometer, it would prove that this was indeed Quantum Entanglement and the information travelled at speeds faster than light. The only difficulty would be the simultaneous monitoring of the two locations, which could be overcome by using synchronized Atomic clocks at both ends.

This is to time precisely when changes were made to the Quantum Mechanical State of one sample of Diamond Atoms and when those changes manifested in the second sample of Diamond Atoms I km away. If they occur at the exact same time, eliminating measuring delays in the Equiptment, then it could be said that they’re Entangled and we’ve witnessed Quantum Teleportation of Quibits.

Quantum Teleportation – Supercomputers on your wrist with unlimited Broadband Internet

My very first article on Quantum Teleportation explored the idea of using drugs such as THC (Tetra Hydro Cannabinol) from Marijuana (Cannabis Sativa) and Psycobin from Mushrooms to relax the mind before Quantum Teleportation as explained in my blog article entitled “Future Ultra-Wideband enables Quantum Teleportation - THC, Salvia and Psilocybin Ben 10 Alien Force”.

I’m actually obsessed with the idea, as it appeals to the part of me that dislikes being confined in a vehicle, no matter how fancy or pretty. Strictly speaking, this is the Teleportation of objects, as that would require you to destroy the items in one place and recreate it in another.

Rather, this is the accurate transportation of Quibits that represent the Quantum Mechanical state of Electrons in Carbon (C) Atoms in a Diamond Lattice being reproduced precisely in another sample of Carbon (C) Atoms in a different Diamond Lattice subjected to the same conditions, paving the way for a new type of Communications System not based on Electromagnetic Spectrum.

The applications of Quantum Teleportation are amazing:

1.      Super Fast Computers at near infinite processing speeds
2.      Real-Time High Bandwidth Data Communication Systems that don’t use Electromagnetic Spectrum

If this eventually reaches that state where this could be done at room temperature with smaller microchip sized equiptment, then super-fast Quantum Computers may soon be possible. Also, this could be used to develop superfast Communication and Relay Systems powered by such Quantum computers, as Data could be encoded in Quibits and transmitted as highly compressed Data at speeds faster than light using this technique.

Still, despite what this development means as a baby step, I can still dream of future applications once the Higgs Field discovery is factored in as explained in my blog article entitled “Higgs Boson Discovery is the Biggest discovery of 2012 - Lay the Favourite for Anti-Gravity, Light Speed Travel and Quantum Teleportation Deadfall”.

I would like the freedom one day to just walk up to a phone booth-like contraption or a Post Office, as I’ve always imagined it, and just requesting a destination and being teleported there without having to move. Or even having packages sent to me via a Teleportation device in the comfort of my home in real time!

One thing is for sure: Einstein's disqualification of entanglement due to its violation of classical mechanics may soon be at an end!
