Folks,
I wish I could say more…. As the events rollercoaster gets ready for the month
of September that I like to call “Sep-Tech-Ber”!
The
Apple iPhone 6 is coming as the lines are beginning to form in front of those
Apple stores in the US of A…….as soon as they get Back-to-School Shopping out
of the way as hinted in my blog article
entitled “WalMart
Sale on Apple iPhone 5S and 5C - Apple iPhone 6 expected in September 2014 and
is worth its weight in Gold and Sapphires”.
Folks,
interpret this Apple invitation any way you wish as per the examples in the
article “10
ways the Internet overanalyzed Apple's invitation”, published August 28,
2014 12:31 PM PDT by CNET staff, CNET News.
Logically,
the expected sale date in Friday September 12th 2014 based on this
now officially confirmed launch date by the Cupertino Kids from 1 Infinite Loop
Drive. Word on the Street is that the Apple iPhone 6 is expected to be the
Sapphire-screen Apple iPhone with a faster A8 Processor and no bezel. To
imagine that, we need some visuals!
An
example of a smartphone with a Sapphire screen in the US$400 Kyocera Brigadier
as per my blog
article entitled “US$400
Kyocera Brigadier – Verizon's Waterproof, Drop-Proof Unscratchable Unbreakable
Sapphire Screen for the Great Outdoors”.
That
smartphone has a bezel, though. To see the smartphone undress and go
edge-to-edge, then the US$239 Sharp Aquos Crystal as described in my blog article entitled
“Sharp
and Softbank smartphone launched on Tuesday August 19th 2014 – Sharp Aquos
Crystal X without Bezel portends an Apple iPhone 6 Without Borders”.
Apple
iPhone 6 specs – Finally a 128GB Smartphone with a side of Apple iWatch
But
what are the expected specs? And will there be an iWatch?
When
the Apple iPhone 5S was on its way, I made some predictions in my blog article
entitled “Apple
to launch the Apple iPhone 5S and a S$199 Contract-less Apple iPhone 5C on
Tuesday September 10 2013 - ATL and LIME Jamaica may not get Goldfinger that's
Made for China” that missed the mark.
But
based on my sources, I think this time around I may have got the Apple iPhone 6
worked out down to its nuts and bolts. Not only that, there is a possible side
order of an Apple iWatch, according to Recode in their article “Code/red:
Apple Plans to Announce Wearable in September”, published August 27, 2014,
10:19 AM PDT by John Paczkowski, ReCode.

Now
to explain these specs……
Apple iPhone 6 –
Thicker Sapphire screen demands Aluminium body and Bigger Battery
A
denser Sapphire screen trap more heat as it’s basically crystalline Aluminium
Oxide (Al2O3), both internal and ambient as noted in my blog article
entitled “Sapphire
Screens for smartphones by Q1 2014 - Unscratchable Sign of Virgo is the Man of
Steel to revive Jamaican Alumina Industry”.
With
the Apple iPhone 6 sporting a denser Sapphire screen, heat dissipation with a
faster 64 bit 1.5Ghz Quad-Core A8 Processor or 64 bit 1.8Ghz Dual-Core A8
Processor is going to be a problem. So expect to see a fallback to the Apple
iPod design ethos of an all aluminium design.
This
Sapphire Screen is expected to be edge-to-edge with no bezel, thereby
maximizing the screen real-estate without having the make the smartphone
physically bigger. So the screen will be bumped up to 4.7” and an even thinner
design to take advantage of the Sapphire Screen and Aluminium body acting as an
improved scratch-proof surface with heat dissipation. Both will make the
thinner smartphone stronger and still fit neatly in your hands and in your
pocket.
Expect
to see therefore a more powerful Front and Rear-Facing Camera that supports
both 1080p Pictures and Video and a 2000mAh Battery that recharged wirelessly.
Sorry, no Solar Charging, possibly the Apple iPhone 6S!
Also,
expect to see a waterproof design thanks to Liquipel as explained in my blog article
entitled “Waterproof
and Water-Resistant with Liquipel 2.0 – How to make your smartphone
Water-Resistant to even Toilet Water”. The Touch ID Sensor will also sport
an option to using non-human fingerprint i.e. your Cat’s paws or your Dog’s
paws or any other surface that can generate a unique print pattern.
Apple
by now must realize that opening up the Touch ID to other patterns will make
the phone that easier to use and even more difficult to unlock, as thief would
never think that your pet at home holds the key to your smartphone in their
paws!
Apple iPhone and Apple
iWatch – Health Tracker with NFC-support and BitCoin Wallet
With
the Apple iPhone 6 coming with support
for the imminent Apple iWatch as I’d predicted in my blog article entitled
“Apple
hires Tag Heuer Sales Executive - High-Profile Executive Poachings signals
iWatch with CarPlay, HomeKit, HealthKit and NFC integration”, Apple iOS 8.0
will be packing their Health Application Healthbook that will be designed to
integrate with the iWatch.
This
suggests that the Apple iWatch will be a more health tracker and less
smartwatch, though it will have more traditional stylings akin to a regular
wristwatch. The Health Tracker design may borrow heavily from the Nike
FuelBand, a division Nike had axed back in April 2014 and whose Design
Engineers Apple may have absorbed as per the speculation in my blog article entitled “Nike
gives the FuelBand the Kibosh to make way for Apple iWatch as Fitness Tracker
Field gets crowded”.
The
Apple iPhone 6 will also be designed to talk to your Car via native support for
Apple CarPlay, competing with other in-Car Entertainment Products in this space
as explained in my blog article entitled “Apple
to launch CarPlay at Geneva Auto Show in Geneva, Switzerland - Siri Voice
Assistant and Primesense bring Hands-free Remote Control Revolution to The
Grand Budapest Hotel”.
Finally,
expect to see along with support for Apple’s iBeacon Technology a rollout of
NFC-based Mobile Money Platform as
described in my blog article entitled “MLB
testing out Apple's iBeacon to give New York Mets Fans Treats and Free Coupons
- iBeacon a challenge to FourSquare”.
Combine
with iBeacon, an as-yet named NFC-based Mobile Money Platform will make your
Apple iPhone 6 as well as your Apple iWatch a Digital Wallet as stated in the
article “Apple
iPhone 6 expected to include mobile payments, NFC”, published August 28,
2014 8:19 AM PDT by Ben Fox Rubin, CNET News,
allowing you to purchase anything from Coffee (why I don’t know) to MLB (Major
League Baseball) tickets.
I’m
also expecting Apple to come out and support Bitcoins in a very big way via
announcing a unique tailor made Bitcoin wallet and plans to accept Bitcoins as
legal tender in the Apple iTunes Store.
Not
sure how the Apple iPhone 6 will work with Homekit, as I have very little
information on that product. That may deserve a whole article just to explain
this trend in Home Automation.
Apple iPhone 6 Pricing
– Gold Standard Sapphire Screen undressed sans a Bezel is Pricey
Pricing
for the Apple iPhone on a two (2) year contract is expected to be the same as
the Apple iPhone 5S as noted in my blog article
entitled “Apple
has launched the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C on Tuesday September 10th 2013 - Apple
iPhone Strategy is to Go Global to beat Samsung”:
1.
US$199 for 16BG Model
2.
US$299 for 32GB Model
3. US$399
for 64GB Model
4. US$499
for 128GB Model
For
Jamaicans wanting to buy the Apple iPhone outright, you’re going to have to dig
deep into your bank accounts as follows:
1.
USS649 for a 16GB Model
2.
US$749 for a 32GB Model
3.
US$849 for a 64GB Model
4.
US$949 for a 128GB Model
So
will that hold you until the Apple iPhone launches on Tuesday September 9th
2014 and the expected sale date in Friday September 12th 2014?
Especially as the iWatch is definitely coming on Tuesday September 9th
2014? It better, as it you lose your
place in that line, ain’t no Apple Fanboy gonna give you a chance to own a
Sapphire Screen smartphone before them.
Ok
Apple Fanboys, get back in line so you can get you Apple iPhone 6 and Apple
iWatch!
